The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

Leave it to Dav to let the communications go dormant and steal my method. I didn't call or write because I didn't want anyone following me where I went. What's his excuse? I'll find out if it's the last thing I do. He's sipping his damned whiskey like it's a usual Friday night at the tavern and nobody's going to say anything about it. When I sit beside him, he almost looks irritated but then his usual sarcasm rings out and I can't help but smirk a little. "Did I say $500? Well since you're feeling so self righteous, that's just the interest. Make it $5000 for every day you didn't call, sweetheart. I was worried." My steel gray eyes sparkle with humor now as his won eyes start to light up and it's like two long lost brothers reunited after the war or something. Almost sappy in a totally manly way but hey, I missed the guy. Him and his corny jokes.
I don't hesitate to take the seat next to him, brows furrowed in concentration as I let my gaze wander around the tavern until I see the man he's talking about. I catch a whiff of his cologne and chuckle under my breath, glancing down at the counter as I shake my head. "I'll take your couple hundred and then some because that, sir, is no vampire. In fact, he's a certified grade A fairy and the two blonde bimbo's? Those are our highest paying clients, the sexiest pair of legs attached to the deadliest fangs in here. I think you need to work on your critter radar there, wizard boy." My lips twinge, showing him a sliver of pearly white teeth in a victorious grin as I raise a a finger at the bartender. "Two more shots of whatever he's having. He's gonna need it if his game's starting off that poor."
