East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

when words are not enough

i used to rule the world

seas would rise when i gave the word

The Dark Hunter was all too aware of the discontent that was so plainly mirrored upon the features of the young woman in front of him. Her thoughts on the value of life and death were so utterly peculiar, his own lack of concern seeming to so frustrate her to a degree. His inquiries so seemed to question the Macedonian King's beliefs and yet, perhaps, this was one line in which he hardly wavered. "They are not my lives to grieve." He stated simply, observing the young woman with furrowed brows. He cared particularly little for the lives those fallen soldiers, supernatural and other mortals might have had before they met the tip of his sword or otherwise within battle. They had chosen their side and likewise he had chosen his. Their loved ones lives would go on without them after the proper compensation and too, their souls would continue to the afterlife in whatever their customs so believed. He saw to it their trip to the next world was done correctly. It puzzled him to so suggest he might be playing a role not cast for him, and why wouldn't it? Alexander the great was hailed as the son of Zeus and Amon-Ra. The egyptians worshiped him for the god he was - they had cast him as the very son of the Sun. If anyone could decide who lived on died, surely it was him.

"My true father was Zeus-Amon, it is my right to take. The world is built on life and death. So it has always been and so it always will be." The words fell truly from his lips, the man perhaps utterly unaware of how barbaric such an outlook might seem and yet Alexander was a warrior at heart. Battle, conquest, death, this was what he excelled at and what he always surely would do so. Such notions of life for the sake of life were entirely lost upon him. His head tilted slightly to the side as the young woman shakes her head ever so slightly, bringing the entire conversation back to the heart of the matter. A small frown crossed his features as he considered the guilt she carried and yet - he had no wise word to white wash those steadfast modern morals that so existed within the woman. The world had so changed around the King, shifting their worldview and their thoughts on right and wrong to fit into their new closer knit societies. He understood the need of it, to an extent, but at the heart he failed to believe all life should be safeguarded as some precious gift. Rather, the conqueror responded in a tone that was entirely introspective, "Some souls do not deserve everything Alexis, I think perhaps those you took fall within that category." After all, he could scarcely see why any such being would have taken it upon themselves to strike first against the demure girl, the woman had, he was assured, never hurt a fly before her disappearance and whatever event that had so transpired.

It was perhaps that which saw the man offer to assist in cleaning up the mess that had so driven her away from him in the first place. She seemed confused by the inquiry, her gaze merely staring up at him blankly and for a moment, he considered whether or not the question was a mistake of if it generally did baffle her that he might be so willing to ensure this moment her life was neatly wrapped with a bow to be placed on a shelf and never again revisited. Still, her response that whatever it was, was over only served to bring the smallest of simpers upon the King's features. "Good." Alexander responded softly and yet, even though he now had a better glimpse of what uncertainties so ravaged her mind, he was hardly any closer to an answer then on what befell of them. His blue-green gaze followed Alexis as she suddenly stepped closer towards him and yet, he didn't reach out to her - not after the way she had cringed at his presence. It was memory that made it entirely astonishing that Alexis herself leaned forward, surprisingly the usually stoic Hunter as her hands reached up to entangle in his dirty blond locks. His lips so gingerly brushed against those of the sweet, demure Alexis and cautiously the man reached up, his hands settling on her waist as he drew her closer into him, his body wholly leaning into the kiss.
