East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

Such an overwhelming flood of emotions over family? That, I can understand completely. I have been a loner for so long that those who have come to know me will understand that I don't really talk about them, especially my brother, for a reason. Family used to be everything to me. I was proud of it. I knew I could always come home and they would have my backs. When my father left, my brother never left my side. If we got separated, he would do whatever it takes to find me. He was reliable, my rock. When he left I felt unwhole for the longest time. It took centures to get over his loss, to learn to live and fight on my own.

I smile softly at her response that she keeps burning herself. "You have a grace you don't even know about yet. When you start believing in yourself, you're going to be a force to be reckoned with, trust me."

I'm also glad for the distraction when she stands and runs into the water. I've never been good at serious conversation, especially when it comes to things that tug at your emotions. Plus I'll never say no to watching an attractive woman run, even if its away from me. She shrieks at the cold water and I chuckle. When she taunts me, I run after her, letting my body acclimate to the water as I splash her. She squeals my name and I laugh. She tries to shield herself before she suddenly jumps on my back, wrapping herself around me. I can tell she's trying to pull her weight to bring me under. "You know, if you wanted to jump my bones, all you had to do was ask but I will say, confidence looks good on you." I grin teasingly and dive forward into the water, taking her in with me before I come back up for air.
