The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

Malek Ackerman
You're my water. You're my wine.
He was surprised at how willing the hunter offered the seat next to her, with a smile at that! Though her body is tense when he approaches. Malek very nearly turns away to find another empty seat down, when he notes the woman is indeed a hunter, but the vampire knows well he has nothing of desire to the woman now sitting next to him. Sliding into the seat smoothly, he props an elbow on the bar, eyeing at her from the corner of his eye, his steely gray eyes observing her briefly. She looks wholly relaxed now, yet Malek had met far too many hunters to take them for granted. Releasing a sigh through his nose, he waves the bartender down, quickly ordering one of his favorites; whiskey.
While he waits for the drink, the vampire swivels in his seat to face the woman, a rather delicate looking thing, at the very least almost everyone looked delicate and young to him at his age. Man, he was old. Quirking up a half smile he watches the woman before parting his lips and letting his English accent roll off his tongue beautifully, "Do we have the Scottish in our midst?" he asks just as the bartender returns with his drink.
Giving a nod of gratitude, he takes the glass and asks the bartender to leave the tab open, shuffling over some cash, the worker takes it. Malek had noticed, with his stay in Sacrosanct, that as long as the workers had something to keep the tab open, it would remain open. You wouldn't believe how hard it was to get an identification license for someone who was already well into his sixth century and obtaining a credit card was nearly impossible!
Grinning at the bartender, the man simply gives him a nod before returning towards his other patrons while Malek's attention drifts back to the woman next to him. Turning his head, he reaches up to scratch at his beard, his hair falling in a wave just past his shoulders, shadowing his face from the onlookers of the crowd. "I'm Malek," he introduces himself, offering his hand, though he doesn't expect the stranger to take it. His brethren tended to give his species a bad name, the vampire couldn't be any more different than his fellow race.
Letting his hand remain extended, he gives her a gentle smile, his eyes wholly attentive on the woman in front of him, the crowd forgotten for now. "Are you, perchance, looking for someone?" he asks, tilting his head, regarding her for but a moment. With his other hand, he reaches for the glass, swirling the liquid lightly to aerate it and taking a sip, eyes lighting up, the vampire actually grins at the amber liquid in his glass, "This is fantastic!" he exclaims, his attention drawn away from the woman briefly as he looks at the bartender. The worker, in turn, gives him a broad smile.
Malek frequented the bars far too often for the workers to not know him, they knew what he liked, on top of that, he tended to get to taste the new liquor in the store. Returning the grin, his eyes crinkling, he swivels his head back to the woman, "Forgive me, I didn't mean to be so rude," he offers an apologetic smile, "You must try this though!"
You're my whiskey. From time to time.
