East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

Malek Ackerman

You're my water. You're my wine.

When that apology leaves the woman's lip, Malek halts in his tracks, successfully pulling Chizue to a step too before stepping in front of her and urging the girl to look up at him. "You have nothing to apologize for," he smiles gently at her, taking his calloused fingers and lifting her chin to make eye contact, his steely gray eyes roaming her face. "Most of our species think I'm an abomination because I don't prey on humans, I find it... barbaric to hunt and kill unless I need to. Don't get me wrong, it's not like I've never fed from a human or killed before," he drops her chin to put a hand behind his neck, rubbing it embarrassed. "Especially when I was younger," he admits, a bit shame faced but the honesty rings from his lyrics.

"Again, no need to apologize Chizue, it's quite alright," he beams at her, offering a corded arm again before he continues into the festival. It isn't long before he finds that dumpling stand from earlier, ordering two and handing one to his companion. Grinning at her, he takes a bite relishing the taste of the assortment of spices, humming to himself in satisfaction. He's pleased to see Chizue is enjoying hers as well, beckoning her to a nearby bench to sit down and enjoy their snack. It's only when they are settled on the bench together does he comment on her perceptiveness.

Malek regrets it almost immediately as a look of uncertainty danced across her features, though he is momently mesmerized by the way she chews on her lip. It takes some effort to draw his eyes away from his lips when she begins to stammer out an answer. Furrowing his brow, he listens to her explanation as it comes full circle. "Ah, that would explain it," he smiles softly at her, taking another bite from his dumpling, pondering over her explanation a moment more before continuing, "There's nothing to be ashamed of for being different, Chizue. If we were all the same it would be rather boring, no?" he chuckles quietly but continues so as not to embarrass the poor girl, "That's a very intriguing power, mine is not nearly as interesting."

He regards her and her shyness briefly, "Forgive me, I did not mean to make you uncomfortable," he apologizes with a small dip of his head, dangling his now empty stick in his hand. "You should smile more, my dear, you're rather stunning when you do," he notes, enjoying his evening quite thoroughly with his new companion. He only stands when he feels that internal clock ticking away, noting the arrival of dawn just shortly away. Sighing, he offers a hand to her, pulling the small Asian woman to her feet, "Unfortunately, it's almost dawn and it's a fairly lengthy walk back home for me," he smiles at her, bringing her hand to his lips again, kissing it gently, inhaling the scent of her, "I've quite enjoyed my time with you tonight, Chizue, I would very much like to see you again, if you'll have me?"

You're my whiskey. From time to time.
