East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

you could rattle the stars.
you could do anything,
if only you dared

She had been enjoying her drink thoroughly, even when a brute of a man slid into the seat next to her. She had been content to ignore the ever-growing crowd and the noise did a good job to drown out her own thoughts. Raising that amber liquid to her lips, she quite enjoys that fire the courses down her throat and she's very nearly finished with it when someone shoves themselves between the strange man and her, her drink nearly sloshing over the rim of the glass. The assassin snaps a venomous gaze towards the woman, her lips parted to threaten her with a particularly vulgar word when the conversation floats between them.

She should get up and walk away, find an open seat down the bar until the woman is correcting the hulking brute of a man with her name. Setting her glass down to prevent her drink from spilling further, she turns her head to watch the bartender dart back and forth between customers, though her ears are entirely listening to the conversation next to her. A wry smile tugs at the corner of her lips and she's very near to laughing when that woman, Vanessa, simply smacks that drink out of his hand, drenching the man and the glass shattering along the ground.

That's when she assassin does laugh. A disbelieving chuckle escaping her plump lips as she shakes her head at the interaction. When she turns towards, John, she can see that rage that so dances in his eyes and she's half hoping to watch him rip her to shreds, but then she's stalking away, her posture every bit as pissed as he was. Grabbing her glass, she swivels in her chair and raises her glass to him, that devilish grin playing on her lips as she cheers him.

"Perhaps if you weren't so good in bed they wouldn't be coming back for more," she laughs at him, downing the rest of her drink, setting it down on the table and motioning the bartender to refill her. He does as she asks and she gestures towards the man with her head, her white hair falling over her shoulder in waves, stark against that leather jacket she so loved. "Whatever he's drinking get him another," she commands just as he's returning with that amber liquid. Again, her scarred fingers wrap around that glass though she doesn't raise it to her lips this time.

"You should clean yourself up, you're drawing attention," she states bored though her eyes still dance with amusement. Finally, she lifts that glass to her lips, tilting her head back to sip on that fire. It pools in her stomach and she can't help but remember the last time she had been in a bar drinking. It was the night she had met Sebastian, the night she had killed those dark hunters, the night she had nearly died. That scar on her side was just another story. She's almost tempted to rub her hand along that raised flesh but she refrains and instead glances at the man again, "So, John, what else did you do to piss that woman off?" She enunciates his name, she wasn't dumb, she knew that wasn't his real name, no one that looked like him was named John.
