The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

She must be crazy.
Sitting here on the edge of the world with a complete stranger who she so thought to be suicidal. What was she doing? Still, the petite woman climbs over to him, swinging her legs over the edge and clutches at his arm, her nails digging into his flesh as that wind tears through her. Perhaps she would have been cold if that fear wasn't keeping that chill at bay, her eyes clamping shut until she feels a surprisingly gentle touch on her cheek. It distracts her enough to open her eyes just barely, to fix them on his face, her brows arched in surprise.
"I don't think I want to look down," she mutters as his hand drops again, though she doesn't release his arm. She was certain that if she didn't have something to hold on to, that wind would drag her over the edge. Swallowing a few times, she manages to steel herself enough to look down. Miyako instantly regrets it, her eyes snapping back up to the skyline, her figure trembling ever so slightly. She was crazy to be doing this, she should go back inside and find Arlo, convince him to stay in and eat with her tonight.
That booming laugh jolts her from her thoughts, her entire body flinching at the sudden amusement that so coats the stranger's aurora. Turning to him, she frowns at the man, "You're a very strange man," she sighs, though her words hold no insult, she regards him briefly, wondering if this man was truly suicidal or she had just interrupted someone who wanted to have a relaxing night in a terribly dangerous way. Swallowing that fear again, she glances away from him to gaze at the skyline, it was pretty as long as she didn't look down.
His deep baritones draw her attention again, those chocolate eyes gazing at him, "I'm an interning doctor at one of the local hospitals here," she admits, "it was slow tonight so I was sent home early," she adds on, not really sure why she offered that information. Perhaps it was because her heart was still pounding in her chest, perhaps talking would ease that fear that so threatens to engulf her. "So, why are you really up here? Do you live in one of the apartments here?" she asks casually, her eyes darting away from him briefly to see that the horizon was just beginning to lighten with the first tinges of purple.
Her chocolate eyes brighten immediately, her fear forgotten in the moment as she tears one of her hands away from his arm to point at the mountains, "Look!" she tugs on his arm excitedly gesturing at the slowly brightening sky, "This was the reason I came up here," she sighs happily, her fingers loosening on his arm, though she doesn't let go entirely, as she smiles faintly at the oncoming dawn.
