East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

Petra had been so very close from losing what she had just found. It was far too close to her liking, her heart which she didn't know could feel felt an unfamiliar pang, as though it swelled within her chest in sweet sorrow. His warm smile was enough to melt the iciest of hearts as he looked to her, his words meant to soothe. "No, it was far too close. I should have not underestimated the other one." She could have killed the others much quicker and she had put him in harm's way. But there was nothing she could do about it now; after all, she did not possess time magic. In this moment, she felt entirely too helpless, knowing for the simple fact that her illusions could do many things but they could not save the man from a demise that was far too close to death's kiss. It was so very lucky indeed. She valued that life of the man before her, that despite how strong that life was and their healing capabilities were unparalleled it still felt so fragile like a butterflies crumbling wings in this very moment.

She would not let him die, she would not let his unnatural undead life slip away from her too soon. When she returned with the heart that was so very lush and full of blood she had been so cautious not to lose even a single drop of crimson blood. So careful she was in her actions as she cradled the bloodied organ within her hands as though it were a precious, priceless ruby and one misstep would ruin it. It was what he needed to save him, to offer him strength so she could remove the stake.

As he draws the heart to his lips, she feels a pride, glad at his greediness as he feasted upon that tender morsel. Oh and did he feast as though he were a starving man and this was his first meal in a long time. He clings to his survival and if there is any hesitation in her gift of this plump juicy heart he does not show any reservations as his jaw works to swallow its contents.

He was almost ready for her to pluck the sharpened wood that protruded from him horrifically. Her pale gaze noticed how dreadfully close it was to his heart, in truth she would be surprised if his heart rested upon it. Her gaze is normally cold as ice but now, it was if that ice melted into endless pools that view him with a tenderness that she didn't know she was capable of. How quickly she had been torn apart, that frozen resolve that was impenetrable had crumbled away as this long lost humanity streams within her. A small flicker of something long lost, something she had so readily given up. Was it still within her all along?

How did he bring her back to life? She couldn't help but wonder no matter how unimportant it was at this very moment. She still had the large task at removing that stake within his chest without injuring his heart. All it would take was a mere splinter and it would be all over. She had to move with the precision of a surgeon, with steady hands. She needed him calm and soothed so that not even a muscle twitches out of place. He might not be aware of this dire necessity. The raven haired woman frowned, drifting away in her concern. However, she is snapped back to reality as in a sweet and tender moment he offers the woman a morsel of the heart. She had not expected him to be selfless in this very moment where he needed it far more than she, after all, he was the one with a gaping hole in his chest. All she had was a blade that seemed unimportant to her, sticking out of her shoulder, blood continuously trickling down upon her porcelain flesh, unable to heal. It would cause a problem if not attended to, but for now she is fixated upon him.

His navy eyes, the colour of the darkest depths of the ocean find hers, trapping her as though she is hypnotized by that gaze and could not dare look away. Even as he had offered her that morsel in offering and she allows that piece to meet the threshold of her lips, she does not look away. She draws in that last mouthful of blood to be pulled into her mouth, a stray fine trickle escaping the corner of those lush crimson lips. She allows her tongue to dart out to capture a taste of blood upon his fingertips in a sensual manner usually reserved between paramours. If only they were in a different situation, she would dare to cross the boundaries and taste the blood from his lips. Those lips stained with blood that beckon the vampire woman so. "Succulent." Those liquid sensual words fall from her sinful lips in a longing exhalation. She was utterly disarmed by him.

"But I must remove that stake from your chest so you can truly heal and I can move you from this ugly place." Only a moment goes by before she calls upon her illusions to make a beautiful scene, to cover up the ugliness of the dilapidated city alley which surrounded them. She hopes it would only aid in his soothing as she creates a private oasis, like one plucked from an oil painting. For a moment there are no more bodies to tarnish their vision, the bloodied concrete was replaced with the softest sand. It was just them. She was no longer spattered with blood and neither was he, as though he sat propped up against a boulder by a pond with glistening turquoise waters. You could hear the birds chirping and June bugs sounding their calls amongst the lovely heat of the sun. A sun so beautiful and blazing! It does not harm their flesh as this is her illusion, a scene that could be horrific as they burst into flames but it is not it was as serene as possible. She wanted him to feel the loving heat of the sun as though he were human, she wanted him comfortable and lulled into a sweet serenity before she had to remove that stake. She allows him to take in the oasis she offered him, one that almost takes on a magical dream-like haze, as though it were a place fairies and unicorns were from.

"I need you to be very still, my love." She states a sadness saturating her words as she moves her fingers to remove his shirt one button at time, he was so very injured. Her eyes fixated upon the mangled mess of his sculpted body. Once he was exposed to her, concern overtaking her desire as she allows the warmth to sooth his pale skin. A luxury they could only experience when they were human, once upon a time. She kneels at his side, she now wore a billowing dress that seemed to dance about her like thin black mist. After all, black was her favourite colour.

Her eyes search for his to capture his gaze as she suddenly pulls the stake out with precision, careful not to take it out at an angle or rub up against his heart as she pulled it out quickly to prevent more pain. She drew in a ragged breath, dropping the stake to the side, studying his face to make sure he was alright and still alive. "No more death wishes for you.." A small teasing smile finds her plush lips, a flicker of pain from her own wound caused her eyes to wince. She was suddenly all too aware of the dagger plunged within her shoulder. "It would appear I did not completely come away unscathed." She attempts to reach with her free hand to remove the blade from her exposed back but couldn't quite reach it. Her illusion slowly beginning to falter. As though flickering back into reality and slipping back into her dream land. She should have known better and not have given him the chance to stab her but she was reckless with fear and worry for him.
