The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

he waited seven more days and sent the dove out once again It comes and goes in waves with me; the emotions i mean. Some days i feel nothing and other days i feel everything. It is a curse, though it is a blessing. I am literally a walking paradox. My time on this earth far greater than the time that shows upon my young face. Sometimes i can feel her, speaking to me, begging for me to remember memories that aren't even my own. We are two separate souls in one body her and i. My past self connected far too greatly with my present self. She has unfinished business, her lover's betrayal leading to her death. I feel her pain more than anyone else's these days. I move swiftly, careful not to touch or make any contact with the others. I cannot handle an emotional attack right now, cannot handle to bear their pain along with my own. I didn't sleep last night and i am sure it shows in the bags under my eyes. The nightmares of visions far too real from long ago plaguing me in my sleep. Coffee, it wasn't the major solution to my problems but for now it would do. Just the idea of the warm cup in my hands sent pleasurable chills down my spine. I pick up my pace, drawing close to the cafe and allowing the sweet scents of brew tickle my nose. A small smile and then i enter the intoxicating domain, greeted by a fresh wave of life along with the sounds of the patrons inside. I move in haste, placing my order and waiting impatiently in the corner for it to come. My forearms rest on the smooth counter, one hand rising as i nervously bite my nail while the other taps lightly in subtle rhythm. I can practically feel the vibrations of the others; emotions like a faint drum that flows through my body. They blend better than the coffee blend that the barista now slides my way. I cannot help the subtle smile that spreads as fingers lace around the warm cup. As it raises to my lips, i inhale, allowing this small victory and peace to flow over me as I take the first sip.
