The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

beautiful and strange
it must be I've fallen awake
I must be
Buffy swallowed hard and grit her teeth from behind two tightly pursed lips. This mammoth of a man worried her, but she wasn't about to back down. Something about his demeanor, his curt speech, the feline-like tendencies in the way he moved helped her decipher just what kind of shifter she was dealing with. But the bleeding in the ears, and the growl and tone of his words were still bewildering to her. She couldn't figure out his edge. What the hell was he after? If being a dark hunter had taught her anything, it was that even the darkest of scoundrels in this town still had motive. There was always something for them to gain in the killing of others. There had to be something greater here than money.
"That'll be the fucking day, dude." She said quickly in response to his open palm, scoffing at him while twirling the blade in her own hand. Her thick dark brows furrow together when he smiles. She really didn't like this guy. But still, he was more interesting than whatever dud human her sister was trying to hook her up with at the restaurant around the corner. "You know, you've caused me to completely lose my buzz... And you're going to pay for that." She spat back.
Buffy watches as he moves to touch at the blood guzzling from his ears, and her eyes reel back in a wince. What an odd character, this one. "Maybe you should get a prescription for that." She shouts, using the tip of her blade to point lazily at his ears, before letting her hand come to fall back alongside her hip. Buffy doesn't look away when he removes her shirt. Quite the contrary, she cocks her head to one side slightly as he reveals a fit abdomen with flesh completely covered in tattoos. She'd be lying if she said she wouldn't think about him later, in the comfort of her own home and maybe with her vibrator instead of a knife. But I digress...
"I don't get you." She says, almost nonchalantly. "But go, scadaddle. Do whatever it is the hell weird shifters do who like to talk in riddles. Maybe I'll catch up with you again. Actually, you can count on it." She says, her eyebrows low and hard over her gaze, her teeth biting just a bit at her lip. "You heard me, shoo!"
