East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

We're all rotten, buried and forgotten,

Living it up underground

It felt like a damn eternity pushed up against the cold rough concrete wall, staring at the man of her past as those she peered at a ghost. It didn't help he didn't dare speak, ignoring her futile remarks intended to lash like whips against his skin. She wants him to strike out with his words, to further fuel the fire. She wanted nothing more than to scream, scream until her voice grew ragged. She had come to terms that she would never see this man again, had lived with the pain of his abandonment and even accepted the hell Ryker put her through because of him. But what she could never prepare for was him suddenly appearing within her orbit once more. It caused a havoc that reverberates through her.

She will not let him take her down, to destroy all that she had built despite the rotten foundation it was crafted on. It wouldn't take much to topple it down into debris. After all, that was her life, wading through the aftermath of her own hell, she will forever be trapped within it.

His expression is void of anything she could read. She didn't like that look, not one damn bit, she searches to cling to her anchor forged from her own anger, desperate for something to ground her. Harley couldn't tell what he was thinking, he no longer angry, no longer anything. He was sealed up and shut tight, there was nothing she could do to reach him now. Her jaw clenches tightly as though teeth could shatter beneath that very force. "Damn you.." She spits out, grasping at the select straws that were left in a lame attempt to shatter that empty man who only presses her against the wall tighter. Her skin cries in protest, as though his fingers threatened to bruise her fragile skin. That vacant man was not the man she once knew. Was he? Was there anything left?

Amor's hand pries her head to the side, exposing that neck once more, the same side that possessed those pin prick marks of his fangs. NO. She struggles with her sanity, with her weakness. She doesn't care what happens next, despite that anger that fills that shell of her body. She knew what was coming next and she hated how she wanted it, hated she is helpless against him. Any traction she had possessed slipped out from under her and she squeezes her hands so tight that those nails bite into her palms, threatening to draw blood. She punched his chest with closed fists, but it was so very temporary. Those fangs make purchase, embedding deep within her neck. It was painful at first because of how she resisted, how tense she was. But that pain was quickly replaced by that intoxicated sensation his bite provided her, all the tension that filled her entire body grew slack against him. Her nails that embedded in the plush of her palms relinquish their hold, that hatred in her eyes simply vanishes.

She is at his mercy and her mind if filled with silver linings and warmth. That warmth that fills her cold body that threatens to tremble, is simply sated. She whimpers, what she thought was protest but it was something else. She didn't want this feeling to stop. But just as quickly as he takes what he wanted he retracts, her blood staining his lips in crimson. He is suddenly gone, allowing her feet to touch the ground and that intoxicating feeling departed faster than it arrived. She felt cold, felt it so instantly that it was disorienting and she is lost. Exhaustion from all those emotions wrung her dry and all she could do was catch her breath, not realising she had been holding it or for how long.

He turned from her, left her hanging. She was alone, the rain saturating her very core. She shivers and didn't dare follow him or lash out. She tries to catch her breath, her mind reeling, unable to make sense of anything. She picks up her belongings on the ground and simply walked to her car, as though her very body threatened to melt away with the rain and slip down the storm drains. Hell, part of her wished it did. "Fuck.." She uttered breathlessly. She touches where he had bit her, the only reminder she had left of this strange night. Her hand came back with blood as it mingled in the rain, washing it away.

Harley somehow manages to drag herself to her car, hugging her belongings to her chest even with the soaked bag. She couldn't help that feeling of being watched, a shadow of what looked like a large black cat catching her vision. It was gone just as quickly as though it were merely a play of her imagination. Great now she was losing her mind.

She wondered if that would be the last time she would see Amor. She had seen the man he had become and she was certain he was too far gone.

Home felt so far away and dismal. She hardly remembered how she got here. She immediately hops into the shower, letting the water run hot enough so that it could nearly scalded her tender flesh. Even still, as the water turned her flesh pink. The distractions were failing, she was just as rattled before. Wordless she curled up with her dog while she dreamt of a past she thought was long gone.
