The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

Azrael
Only Fools Walk Where Angels Fear To Tread
It was a rare thing indeed for the golden-haired Hunter to find himself in the company of another being, let alone in a conversation with one. Idle chat was hardly his forte, indeed his reputation as being little more than grumpy and irritable most often so even those other Hunters leave him alone. Tonight however he was feeling oddly companionable, at least as much as Azrael had ever been companionable, the newness of the girl perhaps prompting some sort of sympathy in him or in the very least some need to provide her the information she needed to survive. If she wasn't used to a big city she was hardly going to last long. Most supernaturals steered clear of their kind or in the least made no effort to engage them and yet there was always someone with a grudge. Some Vampire or Were content to try and get a Hunter alone. Especially a small female one and finish her off. The Council in the least offered some protection from that, rouge Hunters far more at risk from this random attacks and yet still, a part of the man hardly wished to see her die on her first night in town. Preparing her was the least he could do, he supposed, some favour to his own kind though why he even cared enough perhaps remained to be seen. She seemed attentive, if anything, confident despite her newness. Maybe she could be valuable even despite her diminutive size. He'd seen smaller Hunters keep up with larger ones, the man half wondering as to her powers as his hand reached to take her own in that traditional greeting. Isi it was then. Strange name, had to be short for something and yet for now he allowed such thoughts to pass, his lip quirking slightly at the apparent surprise she took from knowing some Hunters refused to hunt. His own shoulders rose in something of a shrug.
"There are only a handful here but I'm sure you will meet them in time. At least you see the sense in not hunting alone."
He commented simply, his thoughts given to drift briefly to Kohl, one of the few Hunters whom not only refused to Hunt but remained determined to believe he wasn't a true Hunter at all. How Katerina stood him he hardly knew. Then of course there was Alexander, the man hardly denied he was a Hunter, in fact, he was one of the best in the game from what Azrael had seen and heard and yet the man chose, more often than not, to simply run a café and serve the very beings he was supposed to be hunting. It was downright ludicrous! Azrael's felt his features frown at even the thought before shaking his head slightly as if to dismiss it, querying the woman instead on her Mentor. After all, she hardly seemed to have heard of the Council before despite the fact they operated in nearly every country and city in the world. What sort of Mentor failed to teach their 'child' that sort of thing? Azrael content to speculate then on her age. Maybe she was simply...young. A Hunter only a few years old who hadn't had time to learn the ways of the world just yet. The woman stared almost blankly towards him then as if the question was somehow difficult, her answers slightly stuttered before she continued with confidence. One golden eye arching softly upward at her response.
"Doesn't seem he taught you very much at all then."
It was little more than a mutter, that near infamous disagreeable attitude so clearly lingering beneath the surface even despite the effort he was making tonight to be...pleasant. Serafina seemed all but convinced he couldn't be nice to strangers. Ha. He was doing a brilliant job tonight. Mostly. Sort of. Azrael so having that habit of saying exactly what he thought without filtering those words and yet he supposed there was little to be gained from agitating the woman to much if she proved to have some great love for her Mentor and remained determined to defend him as some did. That query on what it took to join the council saw his attention return to her at large.
"To sit on the Council itself takes years of service to the Order, quite a few promotions and if you're lucky someone might eventually take notice of you and nominate you from amongst your peers. To join the Order though only requires filling out a few forms and a Hunting examination to make sure you are not entirely useless."
They were always dying after all, unfortunate that. Still, it beat Hunting alone and having nothing and nobody. Immortality surely didn't have all that many perks when you truly broke it down. As far as he was concerned immortality was simply living long enough to see any and every one you'd once known eventually die.
"If your planning on staying in this city I'll leave you my number in case you ever think you might be up for joining the Order itself, we could always do with new recruits."
