East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

to be a vultures lunch

Arlo James

See what it's like to be a vulture's lunch

She wasn't really taking this all too well, although, he supposed, she was taking his rapid healing a lot better than his initial declaration about being a vampire to begin with. At least she wasn't denying it anymore. Not that she truly could when the proof existed right in front of her. The woman having gone from indignant and argumentative and telling him he was crazy to appearing, well, pale and faint really. The life itself seeming to have left her as she crumpled to the kitchen floor, tugging him down with her as she seemed to make several efforts to gather herself. Was this really better than her thinking he was crazy? He wasn't totally sure. Arlo watching her almost warily for a few moments if only to make sure she wasn't going to pass out or something equally dramatic. The man making some effort to explain he sure as hell hadn't drugged her before his attention shifted to that burn on her leg. It was hardly a terrible injury and yet it was, he supposed, at least a little his fault. Arlo standing then to wander to that freezer in search of a frozen....something that had been there since the dawn of time itself. The vampire applying it to her lower leg then in some effort to at least stop it hurting. His medical training hardly extending beyond that.

That shake of the woman's head saw his own bright blue gaze glance upward, the girl batting his hand away then as Arlo merely frowned, those words upon his lips before she promptly declared he was doing it wrong. Oh, well, alright then. Mi seemed to take that moment to attempt to pull herself upward, the woman using his shoulder for leverage as she rose. Arlo content to watch her all the same just in case she decided to fall over again before following her into that bathroom. This was not how he had anticipated his night going. This probably wasn't the way anyone had anticipated it going. He hadn't had a roommate until tonight and within the space of an hour he'd managed to have her in some state of distress on the floor covered in stew and with a burned leg. That had to be a record for the fastest south any of his relationships with anyone had ever gone. That sudden request to grab her bag seemed to bring his thoughts back to the present. Arlo glancing towards it then, the idea that he needed to find some white tube in there seeing some small measure of distress find his features. Put his hand in a woman's bag? Was that even allowed? Alright then. White tube. White tube.

"Ummm, alright, if you're sure."

It was with an almost nervous care that the young man proceeded to delicately search that bag as if expecting some sort of creature to leap out of it and attack him at any moment before at last finding what she was looking for. That little tube of cream handed to her then as she rested her leg in that cool bath water. Arlo content to remain in the doorway, the vampire leaning against that doorframe as he did. God what was he going to die with her now? He'd basically killed her. Maybe he could bite her and....knock her out? She could use a good sleep. Although she'd still remember him biting her and that was hardly going to be good for either of them. That soft sigh from the young woman as she put that cream aside at last drew his attention. Arlo eyeing her leg momentarily before she finally spoke, his own features frowning slightly at that question. Well- it wasn't actually an illogical question he supposed. In fact it was a fairly sensible one just....not the one he had been expecting she might ask. The young man momentarily contemplating whether or not he even knew the answer to it. Although what on earth did 'dissecting' mean? Arlo pausing to fish his phone out of his pocket then, the man googling that word as he spoke.

"Well, I mean, I dunno how to word this right but most vampires aren't exactly....pleasant creatures. We're irritable and territorial and temperamental and we fight with each other more than we fight with anyone else. Most wouldn't be willing to help just because they have no reason too or because I guess- they are worried people might team up with Hunter's and start, I dunno, vampire farms or something. Our venom sometimes does useful things, our blood heals humans though. It can heal anything, I mean, you couldn't give a human too much of it- it might turn them. I thought about fixing your leg with it but I thought it might freak you out more and I- wow, ok, dissect is maybe the worst word ever! Do you work for the government? Is that what this is about? If I step out of here tomorrow night and have someone shoot a tranquiliser dart in my ass and I wake up in some science lab I'm gunna be kinda mad at you."

This 'dissecting' business, he suspected, was largely the reason vampires had refused to offer their blood willingly to the human population at large, let alone why Hunter's seemed so against humans seeking it out. Humans trying to take on vampires was only going to see those humans get killed. Hell, maybe somewhere in the world some organisation was keeping captive vampires for just that purpose. The Hunter Council had done it before, everyone knew that, but they weren't human either. Still, Arlo supposed, there was a lot of reasons not to involve vampires in any human medicine. Maybe he had said to much as it was. The man glancing almost warily at Mi once more now.

"I think...maybe you shouldn't tell anyone about what I told you. Just in case. Forget this conversation."
