The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

The Sun Also Rises
It was entirely foolish of him, perhaps, to find himself anxious over that meeting between his Father and Andras and yet for all the love he held for Matteo, even if he did not often express it in an outward fashion- Dorian was not nearly blind to the mans....eccentrics. In all the years he had believed Matteo to merely be his friend, rather than his father, he had thought the man curious. Such a word perhaps not truly encompassing the depths of that aforementioned 'curiosity'. Matteo was difficult at the best of times and entirely obstinate at the worst. The man the very epitome of 'Fae' in every sense of the word. Dorian entirely assured their species was portrayed as those cunning, devilish tricksters entirely because the author of that very legend had spent at least several minutes in Matteo's company. How unfortunate it would be for Andras to take a dislike to him. How poorly that might reflect on Dorian in turn for him to be likened to much to his sire. The Monarch, on most occasions, choosing to believe he had taken more from his mother and yet truly he had, of late, only begun to see more and more of those similarities between his Father and himself. Perhaps he would query Sebastian upon it later. Andras, for his part, seeming entirely amused as that soft chuckle left his lips. Dorian's own head nodded then.
"Yes, he is approaching his two thousandth year."
Sebastian and himself really ought to do something for that birthday. Surely it was significant? Dorian so making a note once more to remind himself to speak to his fiancé about that very matter and whether or not it was appropriate to afford Matteo some sort of birthday celebration. It was with Andras' ready assurance that this weekend would surely be a fine time for a meeting between them that Dorian offered that soft bob of his head once more, the Monarch assured he could see to orchestrating such a meeting. That query as to Matteo's name seeing the return of that slight hesitance once more. After all, what if Andras already knew him? Matteo once having explained just why he would not ally himself to any Monarchy no matter the offers that came his way. Had Andras been once such being within the past? Surely Matteo had caused him no insult? Dorian offering his Father's name in the moments that followed. Andras seeming to recognise it though he claimed never to have met the man himself. Dorian supposing that it was perhaps not truly unsurprising that a Fae so aged as Andras might well have heard of one older then himself, Matteo having existed for so terribly long that it was likely rather a great deal of beings had surely heard of him in the least. Fae as old as two thousand were near unheard off.
"I hope you shall find some pleasure in one another's company. I would imagine you might have a great deal to talk about- having both lived so very long."
That wink he was offered momentarily saw that surprise grace his features at such a curious gesture, Dorian near inclined to ask him off it before talk of that engagement seemed to ensnare his own thoughts. How even that mere mention of Sebastian had a habit of bringing that grin to his lips! Andras' assurance that such an event was cause for celebration bringing that chuckle to his own lips. On such an idea he found he could hardly so disagree, the idea that the modern world had forgotten the elegance of such affairs one that Dorian could hardly deny in any sense. How terribly drab such affairs had become today! How lacking they were compared to the glory such affairs had once been. How pleasing it was to speak to one whom understood so well that world they had left behind. His own head shaking softly but a moment later.
"Ah, but this is entirely true. The world knows nothing of how a celebration should be held. How very much they have forgotten the past! You need not trouble yourself to such extent as a ball though. An evening meal perhaps might be pleasant though."
His engagement, once, would have been cause for celebration throughout the country and a near innumerate amount of balls and fine evening's amongest commonfolk and the higher classes alike. The simple lack of ballrooms in this modern day surely making such a thing rather difficult. Dorian assured he hardly need trouble Andras so very much as that. It was only natural, surely, that such conversation might turn to Andras' own more personal affairs. After all, in all that time, surely he had found a wife or fathered a child to carry on his own lineage? Even if fathering a Fae child was a near impossible task in turn. He could hardly help that simper that touched his lips at that mention of the lovers Andras had held over those years, Dorian hardly inclined to doubt it. The Monarch readily inclined to see the sense in Andras' disdain to take a more permanent partner when that past clung to him so readily still and the fear of whom might still be seeking him remained poised at the forefront of thought. How well too he knew of the politics of women! How cunning they could be! That near blunted statement of the ruthlessness of women stirring that soft simper to his own lips. His shoulders lifted in a loosened shrug.
"It is why I am marrying a man."
That teasing note so easily found his words then, one eye lifting upward in amusement, Dorian inclined not to press any more upon the nature of Andras' personal affairs if only for the sake of politeness. That conversation shifted gently then to the press that had, of late, made Sebastian and his own lives entirely difficult in every sense. Dorian, slowly, becoming merely used to their presence. The Fae so hardly having anticipated that offer of a private home and private quarters for Sebastian and his own use should the affairs of the public prove entirely too much.
"This is a generous offer, thank you, Andras. We would appreciate this very much."
How pleasant it might be to have a place, so close to their own, that might provide them that escape- should they need it. That warm grin finding his features once more as they came toward the end of that path. Dorian content to pause once more upon reaching its end. His attention returned to his companion then.
"I suppose I ought to see to returning home, Sebastian will be waiting for me. It has been a very great pleasure to see you again though, Andras. I shall be in contact with you in regards to this weekend too. Here, I shall give you my address and the number for my phone. If you require to see me at any time let me know as soon as you can so I can make sure they will let you through the gates. My guards are inclined to be almost too good on occasion and not allow anyone at all through. It's quite a bother sometimes really."
