East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

He could hold her in his arms for eternity. Keep her safe and protected against his chest where she belonged. But he knew he needed to share her with the world. She had a necessary light that everyone needed and he knew it would be selfish of him to keep her all to himself. Maybe only sometimes. As she drew back, she made remarks of feeling underdressed. She could be in a holey shirt and pajama pants and he would still think she looked breathtaking. As his eyes went over, he took in the bulky sweater and the rest of her attire and only saw her beauty shining through. As that color bloomed in her cheeks, his eyes only darkened to meet that desire he saw reflected that. Man, how long had it been? Far far too long. She always drew such a strong reaction out of him, especially when she looked at him like that. As he asked if she wanted him to take it off, she gave him a look that would have taken his breath away had he any to lose. And then she bit into that bottom lip which made his own part in anticipation, his fangs threatening to draw in excitement but he was trying oh so hard to behave.

Well, not too hard. She nodded, her fingers curling in his jacket as she pulled him into the house. He was going to close the door behind him but she beat him to it, nudging it closed. He only caught a glimpse of the roses still on the sidewalk but his thoughts were instantly elsewhere as he looked into her innocent gaze and saw all the love and wanting that he felt himself. He reached up gently to caress her cheek, admiring her chiseled features as if for the first time. And then slowly, gently, he leaned in, his lips aching for hers. "I'm sorry. I'm so so sorry." He whispered in a gasp as he pulled back, leaning his forehead against her own, his eyes soft as they gazed into hers. Slowly he pulled back, his hands tracing down her slender arms and trailing soft fingertips over her waistline. "I know I have no right to ask but how have you been? Was everything okay while I was gone? Any faces I need to punch for disrespecting you or eyes to gouge out for looking at you?" One brow arched up on the last one, hoping she would see he was trying to offer light jokes since she knew he was indeed the jealous type.
