East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

Sure, he'd love to travel to more exotic places and really see the whole world versus the expanse of North America, but until money was less of an issue, he would have to make due. He'd once had dreams of becoming an astronaut and then Indiana Jones and a tomb raider and an underwater diver. His dreams had taken one crazy turn after another through the years depending on what phase of life he was going through. But it was always an escape, somewhere else to be besides under his father's thumb. Somewhere he could feel free and be his own person, make his own decision without someone hovering over his back to tell him what a disappointment those decisions would be. In the end, he figured out that the fastest way from point A to point B was to just jump on his bike one day and go wherever the road would take him. That's exactly what he did. Maybe he would never get the chance to explore the outside world but he would be sure that anywhere he went from here on out, was a decision that he made, something he chose. Except for this trip to the woman's house, that is. A woman always seemed to want to step in and make his decisions for him. Not that he minded all that much. At least she was nice to look at.

He had learned most of his manners from his mom. Call him a momma's boy all you want and it won't hurt his feelings. He loves his mom. She was soft and gentle and was always patient with him. She had taken the time out to teach him how to ride his first bike and where to take a girl on the first date. She was the one helping him figure out what to wear to impress a girl at school and helping him come up with the money to buy the coolest new phone so he didn't feel left out. His dad had to be coaxed into teaching him how to throw and catch a ball and his mother literally put her foot down on his dad teaching him how to drive. Everything felt forced with his dad while he could tell his mom really wanted to be there for him. He knew from an early age how he wanted to treat a woman because to him, his mother was precious and he hated the way his dad yelled at her. Don't get him wrong; his father never laid a hand on his mom. It's a good thing too cause Taylor wouldn't have hesitated to step to her defense. But his father had a short temper and when they argued, it was more yelling and door slamming than anything and that was mostly on his dad's side.

Taylor decided early on that he wouldn't be like his father. It was a pretty easy decision. Just like saving the woman before him. It was natural, instinctive. No woman should be touched that way. And Taylor wouldn't allow it. He didn't expect her to follow him outside and certainly not to take an interest in his welfare. It didn't really happen like that before. But she seemed genuinely fascinated by him and he couldn't understand why. There was nothing interesting about him. He was poor and while he made sure to keep up proper hygiene, he didn't have the coolest clothes or style his hair with all that fancy gel and hair spray. He basically showered and shaved and threw on some jeans and a tshirt to make it through the day. He usually just smelled like aftershave and whatever liquor he'd been drinking, but he wasn't a drunk by any means. He drank socially, but knew when to call it quits. Well, most of the time. Get him around the right crowd with friends and he might get toasted but only cause he knew he had backup to get him out of any sticky situations. He was usually level headed but he could be a hot head in certain situations. He just brushed his hair and parted it in the mornings and that's pretty much it. If it got too windy, he would tie it back in a little ponytail on his neck.

He didn't try to charm ladies into his bed. He might try to strike up conversation then see it where it takes them and if it's just a fling he's looking for, well, he'll head to the nearest bar and buy an attractive woman a drink. Usually they figure it out and if they're interested, they let him know. He never tried to lure a woman back with him or make them think there's more to what he wants. He always tended to be brutally honest and that made sure there wasn't ever any misunderstandings. If a woman wanted a relationship and he didn't, he'd let her know before things got too serious. He hated hurting anyone's feelings, especially women, but he knew it was better to let them down early than lead them on and then break their heart. If there was anything he hated, it was seeing a woman cry. Man, that would make him squirm more than anything. Just like when a woman fixes him with that determined gaze and says that he has no choice in the matter. He knew he was a goner. So he just decided to go along with it. It wasn't like she was hard company. She seemed happy enough that he would indulge her, saying it was settled with a smile that lit up her whole face.

It was a good look for her. Then there was the matter of transportation. She seemed thoughtful for a moment as they moved further into the parking lot and he glanced around curiously, wondering if any of the cars in the lot around them belonged to her. He wouldn't be surprised, honestly, if a limo pulled up and called her name. She just gave off that aura of someone used to leisure. Not that it was a bad thing. On some women, it could be downright unappetizing, but that was mostly cause of their snobbish attitude. She didn't give off that at all. She seemed more intrigued with the world around her, like she wanted to fully experience everything that it had to offer. He wouldn't deny her that. He offered her a ride and couldn't help the daring look in his eyes. He expected to see the hesitation in her features as she looked at the bike but then she took him by surprise when she moved right toward the bike and purred back a response. A chuckle fell from his lips as he smirked in amusement and moved over to the bike with her. "I'm sure you'll more than rise to the occasion. But safety first." He added in an admonishing tone like his mother would use as she buckled him up in the car.

He opened the side bag and pulled out a black helmet, holding it out to her with a reassuring smile. While he could definitely encourage her daring nature, he couldn't bear the thought of risking her safety should something happen. He'd never been in an accident on the bike but there was always a first time for everything and he wouldn't risk her. If she needed, he would lean in to gently fit the helmet on her head and clasp it under her chin, making sure it was snug and comfortable before he got on the bike and patted the seat behind him with a smirk. "You ready for the ride of your life, Adelaide? You'll never see car rides the same ever again." He waited till she was situated before he turned the key and started the Harley. It roared to life and he smiled. "Hold on tight, now. Let me know if it gets too scary." He revved the bike, making sure she was holding on before he took off into the street. Usually he was pretty reckless, swerving around other vehicles to pass and going well over the speed limit but with precious cargo on the back, he was a model driver, driving just a little over the speed limit but staying in his lane and following all signs. He turned his head a little as they got going. "So I guess just call out directions or something so I knew where to turn. Need to stop and call any body guards to be at the house when we get there just in case I get frisky? I don't mind." His eyes practically gleamed with humor and he grinned, sure that she could see some of his expression before he turned his head back to watch the road.
