East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

LIVE UNTIL WE DIE
TURN MY SOUL INTO A RAGING FIRE

There were times when William realized just how much he missed the sun. He could barely remember the way the rays used to warm his skin or the way the light use to filter through the leaves of trees. There were times when he almost resented having to lock himself away from the day and to only emerge in the evening. However, there was not much that could be done about it and so the vampire went on his way, slowly dressing himself for the night. He chose a simple outfit of a t-shirt and jeans and without so much of a second thought he left the home.

He hated being cooped up anywhere. He hated staring at the blank walls of his home or outside of an empty window at the world passing him by. He much rather be out and about in the city. The sounds of others' voices could always drown out the own thoughts in his head. And so he walked the streets, much like he did tonight. He would make eye contact here and there with the people that passed by and as he did he could hear bits and pieces of the thoughts that ran through their mind. Usually it was all very predictable and boring. However, there would be times he would catch a thought or two that would make him chuckle or cringe internally. It was always such a pleasant surprise.

A deep sigh left his lips as he moved through the downtown streets with his hand shoved deep into his jean pockets. He wasn't looking for a meal tonight or anything specific really. Though, if he were to be completely honest a companion would be nice. He couldn't remember the last time he was able to talk to anyone, to keep a conversation going past their first few questions. He really didn't need anymore small talk.
