East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

dance to the rhythm of your heartbeat

Beylani knew of the trials that would await her on that long and surely challenging journey that stretched out before her. She was entirely too aware that there would be little return in the beginning and even less clientele, but the one good thing that came with expecting for things to be tough was that it prepared her for the failures that she was bound to experience in the beginning and likely even throughout that career when the day came that she attained that dream she'd been chasing through her young years. And those same hard-working parents, the very beings who had raised her from day one and helped support her on that path when she'd first decided that it was what she truly wanted to pursue in her life, had always told the young girl that she should never stop getting back up when it felt like things were going nowhere. She'd been taught that very few things that were truly worth every drop of blood, sweat, and tears came easily and that half the satisfaction in getting to where she wanted to be was in that near constant upward struggle. Already there'd been a dilemma or two, but nothing that had phased her from continuing to chase that dream of hers. Needless to say, with all the love and support that she'd received during those ever-crucial years growing up, the young woman was not the sort to give up easily. Not on that dream, and certainly not in any other aspect in her life. So much of life was learning the mortal limitations that came with being human, that there would be mistakes both big and small made and that most of the time they would be unavoidable, but in that very same moment it was about learning how to overcome those mistakes and wrong turn, all those poor decisions that were made and ultimately affected oneself and maybe even those around them. It was all a "cause and effect" sort of cycle - at least, most of the time it was.

His inquiries were all perfectly reasonable ones, the normal everyday interview type questions that she was far from a stranger to. While it had been fairly easy to find part-time work in her hometown, here in the city, she was sure that trying to find an establishment that had open positions for whatever they were in need of would be a little bit more of a challenge to obtain. Back in Willowhaven, there were much fewer people that she would surely be getting compared to as the future employers would contemplate who would be the most beneficial for those needs that were needing tended to by designated individuals. She wonders only briefly how long that the "help wanted" sign had been in the window of Inner Sanctum, wondered for only fleeting moments just how many others the older man before her was considering to fill that position â€" or positions, she wasn't entirely sure how many others he was looking to hire â€" and if he'd already had a handful of promising candidates. Obviously, there was a determined hope in the young woman that she wouldn't be entirely disregarding simply for her lack of barista experience, but in the very same moment she was also very much aware and wholly understanding if he deemed her unfit, hoping to find someone else that would be a little savvier at what they were doing behind that espresso machine. Hence why she felt inclined to make him aware that she was more than willing if not excited to learn a new trade. Not only was it the truth, but it was also a piece of advice that her parents had always been sure to remind the blue-eyed blonde of. If she made clear her eagerness to perform as best as she could while driving to break past her own current limitations in knowledge and capability, it could only help her in the long run, or at least earn her consideration for another position in the future that might become available. Whatever happened, she would walk away from this office feeling good about herself. She would only try harder at the next place she sought employment at.

The acknowledgment that briefly offers her in response to his question on what it was that she wanted to pursue in her life has her smiling brightly at the older man, whose name had appeared to escape her but she hoped that by the end of this encounter she might earn at least that much from him."I couldn't agree more, but I was always taught to endure each and every challenge and take what I can from it to better myself. It's that passion that will make the long road ahead of me that much more worth it", she remarks confidently, though it was more just out of her want to reply to his words than to try and impress him â€" not that she wouldn't be delighted if he found her needless reply as reaffirmation that she wasn't a quitter. His next query stays with her though as she asks her what she knew of supernaturals and though that ever-present curiosity nearly begs her to ask him why it was that he wanted to know what she thought of something she considered a likely irrelevance to the job that hung in the balance, she remains quiet and offers him only her answer. A soft sigh passes through him then, saying nothing in reply as he opens the door to his desk and presents her with papers. She felt almost as though she could burst with happiness when she realizes that they were tax forms and those baby blues are practically sparkling as he begins to explain the details of pay and schedule. She eagerly snatches a pen from within her purse and begins filling them out as he goes on to speak of the dress code and how she would need to dress accordingly, nodding all the while. They take no time at all before she's finished them, knowing all her information rather well since she hadn't wanted to be unprepared should she be so lucky. She gently slides them back over to him as he asks if she had any questions and she gives a shake of her head, those elegantly curled locks brushing against her slender shoulders."Not at all, sir. I'll be here Monday at eleven sharp!", she then moves to stand from where she'd sat, extending her hand to him once more."Thank you so much for this opportunity. I promise I won't let you down", she says with finality, that bright smile remaining upon those lips as she regards her new manager with a curious yet warm and appreciative gaze. If only he knew exactly how eager she was to get started, how much this meant to her.
