The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

we built this city on broken glass
He was unaware, in those few precarious moments, of the thoughts that danced about inside her mind. Frost seeing little need to pry into the catacomb of her thought. It was far easier to keep that affinity for telepathy to himself then it was to broadcast it. The stallion having learned early on that his mind was capable of sizing the thoughts of more than one individual and that, without careful control, he was quick to be overwhelmed by near every thought of every passing individual until they compounded within his skull and threatened to crack it at the very seams. Frost choosing to use that affinity only sparingly, on most occasions. Her mind too- was one he unused to finding. Like a radio station not yet fully tuned and saved to those presets. As such, her thoughts were likely to be crackling and weak until he could seize onto them with the same vigour and practised assurance that he did Nadya or Alexander. Frost unaware of those assumptions she had deduced in regards to himself and the distinct correctness of them. Mira so effortlessly having seized onto that which was so blatantly ignored by most and concealed behind that hardened exterior he so kept in place like a shield of sorts against the very world. That somewhere beneath that armour and distinctly potent power existed a being that was, perhaps, not as truly villainous as most were determined to believe. Yet why shouldn't they? It was all he presented to the world in most instances. Being disliked, after all, was far easier than being favoured in any sense. It required far less effort. Frost so destined to remain oblivious to how much that sharp woman had already perceived of him and that peek of sorts beneath that shield she had gained so inadvertently.
His attention, for now, far more focused on that discussion of those animalistic sounds their species were so capable of making. Mira taking some measure of amusement in that whinny of the horse. A sound even Frost himself was not unwilling to admit hardly seemed to inspire fear in others like the snarl of a dog or that roar of a lion and yet- the equine had so won its place in the heart of man alone. Little so comparing to the sound of thundering hooves that had once heralded an incoming army and an approaching battle. Perhaps the horse hardly needed more than a whinny when it had those other sounds at its disposal. The scream of a stallion as horrific a noise as any other he was sure all the same and yet his shoulders merely rose in that shrug. As if he had hardly given the idea particularly much thought at all. The man content to offer that remark on that ever-pathetic whine of the wolf instead. The woman beside him seemingly unable to contain that laugh, Frost allowing the subtlest quirk off his lips as he so often did, giving way to that indication of amusement. His violet gaze turned towards her then at her assurance he could hardly help the high octave off his voice. Hmm, she did have a wit about her, this one. A sharp mind in the very least and a sense of humour he hardly minded, so few beings in the world seeming to appreciate that near dry taint to his own and yet somehow this woman almost seemed too. How unfortunate she was wasted on Tetradore.
"I brought that one on myself. Well played."
It was hardly a concession of defeat and yet the acknowledgement existed all the same as he continued to stroll beside her, his hands tucked into the pockets of his black jeans. That hair falling back over his eyes as it often did to conceal them from view. Mira hardly incorrect in her early assumptions as to the fineness of it. His human hair far removed from that wiry wealth of mane he often sported in that equestrian design. It was that comment upon sugar cubes that further spurred that conversation from the often apathetic creature, that soft snort punctuating her reply and yet that amusement of sorts lingered upon his features still.
"You seem surprised."
He commented simply. As if the notion that he possessed at least one friend within the world was somehow surprising and yet perhaps it was. 'Friends' was a concept that stallion himself was decidedly....wary off in every sense of the word. There was little true use for friends, as far as he was concerned, loyalties could be bought and won and sold like any other commodity in the world. To be foolish enough to be lulled into some dismal idea of friendship was a pathetic one to his own mind and yet surely that which he had with Alexander was bordering upon that very thing? Alexander was his friend wasn't he? Perhaps the first one he had ever had. Frost frowning slightly at the concept before pushing the thoughts aside for now. The stallion content to merely offer that rebuttal in the form of his bad temperment. One he had been informed off several times as both a man and a stallion. Mira seizing onto that with the same eagerness. How unfortunate such a creature as this had chosen to throw in her lot with the Nightshade pack. She could have been so valuable. The sarcasm that laced her words hardly missed as his own chuckle finally managed to hum from within his throat.
" It is the opinion of some, yes. I suppose people call you spirited, hmm? When they really mean to say you are hot-headed, impatient, firey or impetuous. Am I close?"
One eye lifted then. Frost near daring her to suggest she had never once be called any one of those things. He knew little of her, truly and yet what he had seen of her that night in the meadow had shown him enough to glean at her personality. The woman a distinctly proud individual even if she would not admit to it. She was as spirited as she was fierce. Witty and yet not un-calculating in her own manner. Determined to succeed and yet perhaps held back from the fullest of her potential by her inability to master her own powers along with that part of her that feared her past. It was that singular potent point that stallion was assured held back that womans potential the most. Though he hardly cared to voice it now. She was intelligent enough to be suspicious of him and he saw little need to dissuade it. Frost shifting abruptly to that business end of their conversation now. His personality seeming to shift in turn. That cold edge seeming to taint his words then as that near apathetic manner returned. Something almost callous touching his demeanor then as he spoke near offhandedly of so having convinced Neegan of her death. As if he had performed such a task from the seeming (non existent) goodness of his heart to buy her that little more time without her former Alpha discovering her. Frost seeing little need to explain why, for now. Mird querying just how he had done it, the woman attempting to guess at his powers.
"Like this."
He interrupted abruptly, his fingers snapping, that sound echoing along that near empty street as Frost himself stopped walking, the man turning on his heel then to gesture behind them as what appeared to be Mira herself stumbled from the bushes. The woman was battered and bloodied, crumpling to her knees after barely a step before her body seemed to still. That final breath fluttering from her lips as her eyes seemed to glaze over in that shuddering death- and there she lay. A perfectly dead Mira.
"And you thought I didn't mimic you well."
He commented offhandedly. As if that entire conversation had so been designed from the very beginning to so make that singular point. As if Frost had so been commanding it silently all along. Perhaps he had been. The man allowing that guise to fall suddenly That illusion dropped as that body seemed to melt away. Such a display so effortless, so simple and yet so pointed all at once. Frost so assuring she knew just who was in charge in this situation from the very beginning without a single harsh word. The man veritably of conjuring any amount of things.
"See? Why shouldn't he have believed me? As I said, you can thank me anytime. That should keep him busy for awhile."
He shifted beside her then, waiting for her to come back to his side before falling back into step beside her. The man offering that power no real explanation. His line of questioning shifting again. After all, it would not pay to allow this one to understand him to well. She was far to quick for that. It was better to merely keep her guessing and occupy her thoughts with that. Frost asking after her powers then. After all, he was hardly the only one with those more substantial gifts. Mira's affinity for that lava decidedly powerful and of interest to him. Her smile almost bitter then at that memory of their first meeting before she mentioned a forest fire she had apparently started. Frost frowning slightly and yet he seemed entirely contemplative for a moment before regarding her again. His demeanor remaining as oddly apathetic as always.
"My cooling off only works in my presence. It seems you have been busy though, burning down forests. Tell me then, since you refuse to speak off your pack, are you interested in learning to control your power? Or are you content to let them control you?"
He paused then, his gaze (or what could be seen of it) remaining ahead and on that path as if what he almost appeared to be offering was hardly surprising it at all.
