East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

Emerson wished that even for a moment, she had overbearing parents. She would do anything to have a mother that worried about her well-being when she went out on the town or a father who only wanted the perfect gentleman to love her. She wanted all of that â€" even the overprotectiveness that it incorporated. Emerson didn't have that. She had a family who had cast her aside very quickly after learning that she had the power to summon storms and bad weather. Such a gift was only seen as a blemish and they immediately wanted her gone. She was barely given enough to take the clothes on her back, let alone prepare for a move somewhere far away. So she had left with only a small trunk of clothes and her instrument. She made do living with Alex in an old abandoned building â€" it was the life she knew very well. But after his death, she had come to a strange city and had to start fresh. She wished she could see her parents again, to speak to them on the phone. Unfortunately, they didn't want to hear from her ever again.

It was these thoughts that distracted Emmy from watching where she was going, causing her to rise abruptly and nearly knock over the fancy-clad woman and her companion. She apologizes, sorry for the intrusion and yet the young woman doesn't seem to mind at all. In fact, the woman seems kind enough to offer an introduction. Emmy smiles at them both. "I'm so sorry I met you both under these circumstances. I'm Emerson...but please, call me Emmy." She offered a soft smile, trying to at least make the sudden invasion of their personal space something that was far less traumatic. Something told her it was harder on her than it was on them.

After giving her introduction, she extends her hand to them both to properly greet them as she rests her cello case on the ground. She looks to William and then to Adelaide. "May I ask a forward question?" She doesn't want to be rude but she cannot help but notice the French and English accent. She had never been to either country but she had seen enough TV growing up to recognize the accents. "Where are you from? It isn't often I see a French woman and an Englishman on a walk together here in the US." She hoped she wasn't being rude. The last thing she wanted was to show that she was being rude.
