East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

we built this city on broken glass

She was a bold sort of woman. Frost readily deducing that very part off her eager nature within moments. The woman poking at him with some sort of teasing delight as if the very action proved how entirely unafraid of him she was. She alone, in the depths of tht cafe, the sole being willing to taunt at him- so to speak and yet Frost hardly found he minded. Daring women were a rarity. That spirit of sorts within her alluring in its own fashion even if another part of him near relished the challenge of seeing how long it would take to snap and break her like a twig. Either way that very boldness was a blessing and a curse all at once. Frost inclined to wonder just how many times her lack of boundaries had gotten her into trouble or in the very least, into a situation she hardly desired to be in. The man finding a curiosity of sorts in this woman whom was so vastly different from his own stoic, often cold nature. Frost hardly known for his conversation or his humor. The vast majority of that city determined to flee at the sight of him and yet that reputation, true or otherwise, had worked in his favour for several years now. The man seeing little need to dissuade it. His demeanor remaining decidedly frosty even despite that hint of amusement he seemed to find in his companions actions. The vampire declaring him to be sharp, as if his effortlessly discovery off her species and taken some terrible great still. Perhaps he shouldn't be surprised most others had so seemingly failed to learn what she was. Most people were utterly vapid at the best of times. Frost meeting her gaze once more as those cool lyrics fell from his lips again in that same almost emotionless fashion.

"You have no heat signature. No other species save a vampire can maintain that lack of warmth and be alive. You also smell like death- no offense- all your kind smells that way to us."

Were's after all, were near notorious for their sense of smell even within human form. Frost easily capable of picking out that scent amongst the others within the cafe. The stallion seeing little need not to inform the woman of exactly how he had come to that conclusion of her species before she provided that comment on her own eating habits. He had never seen any need to query a vampire on exactly what or how they ate outside of blood. Frost momentarily finding himself almost intrigued at this idea of just what else a vampire could sustain themselves on. That quip about garlic prompting that soft snort from his nose and yet that good humor continued to prevail all the same even despite that expressionless facade he seemed to maintain so effortlessly.

"I suspect you will find the cupcake garlic free- somehow."

Why a cupcake would ever have garlic in it he hardly knew. His features frowning slightly in disdain at even the thought as the woman chuckled. Either she was already drunk or she simple had a more optimistic nature, even despite her quips. The vampire woman seeming all too keen to engage him in that conversation as so few were, his own near stoic answers hardly seeming to deter her as she continued. Hmm. An admirable personality trait really. Frost affording her that near blunt assurance that he did, indeed, take some measure of joy out of upsetting the staff- as if such a thing was not obvious to begin with. Frost neither ashamed nor concerned with admitting that simple truth. It wasn't as if Alexander didn't know about it and truly, as far as he was concerned, those staff should bring him those treats as he desired them. The woman promising to be more observant next time as that smile tugged at his own lips.

"Good. I look forward to it."

He offered readily, that faintest nod of his head punctuating that simple sentence as his fingers continued to drum against the wood of that table near absentmindedly, that white forelock of hair falling back over his eyes again. The woman daring then to ask those questions so few ever did. Frost readily content to reward that audacity with his own. After all, he had little to hide in that regard. If she was bold enough to ask he saw little need not to afford her that blatant, blunt honesty that seemed to catch more off guard then any attempt to shield that truth ever did. Frost content to afford her just enough of that tale as to offer that answer without truly offering her those more potent details he hardly cared to think on himself. The woman seemed genuinely surprised by that answer then. That near flirtatious assurance those modifications made through that selective breeding to his own set of genetics had surely paid off prompting that more genuine chuckle from him now.

"I will take that as a compliment. As for my nose- I'm a Werehorse. I think the nose is a given."

Those words remained equally teasing all the same, horses, after all, possessed a longer nose than most animals. Frost content to play upon her words, even at his own expense. The man taking that moment of distraction to reach forward and pluck that coffee from her cool hands before bringing it to his own lips. She had been the one to demand they share, after all. The bite of that alcohol hardly unnoticed. Even if it lacked the strength of his own native liquor. It was stronger then he'd anticipated for so early in the evening all the same. The vampire reached abruptly forward then, Frost merely eyeing her curiously though he made little effort to move his hands as she gripped then, adding only more alcohol to that drink before lifting that cup to her own lips. Hmm. Someone wasn't afraid of a hangover. Frost half inclined to wonder whether vampires were even capable of achieving that state on inebriation. His comment on that very drinking prompting a short laugh from the woman before declaring her roommate was the reason for that alcoholic binge. The vampire content to admit to her apparent alcoholism in the same blunt fashion he'd admitted to his own beginnings. Admirable. He supposed. At least she owned it. At least she knew damn well who she was- even if she claimed she didn't steal lives.

"How exactly are you not typical, hmm?"

Her drunkenness aside, that query on cupcakes almost inspiring the stallion to pilfer another before the woman's phone proceeded to buzz, the vampire tapping away at it but abruptly standing and all but rushing out of that room. Frost merely watching her go with some mild hint of surprise on his features. That the fastest exit he had seen in a long time. He rose easily from the table in turn, plucking another cupcake from the stand as he went before trailing lackadaisically out of that cafe and onto the street. Now where had that woman gone.....
