East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

we built this city on broken glass

It was that near overly excitable greeting that saw his violet gaze shift from the blue-eyed blonde woman and onto her companion. The girl greeting him so brightly it was almost glaring in a fashion. Frost eyeing Elian with that same near expressionless look he afforded the world at large. Those violet eyes, somewhere beneath that shock of white hair, lingering upon the woman. Either the girl was well trained in customer service- or she was some sort of fool. Any being willing to look at the world with that much delight had surely never seen the truth of it. Frost aware, on some level, off his own decidedly jaded outlook on the entirety of the world itself and yet those thoughts lingered within his mind all the same. That woman so....innocent it was near a crime all at once. Her naturally happy, delightful demeanor only further seeming to irritate the tallion and yet, as always, Frost so barely allowed even a glimpse of any emotion to taint his facade as the woman asked where or not they could help him.

"No."

The answer was as blunt and simple and smooth as those words themselves. No impoliteness tainting that singularly offered lyric and yet it was afforded no real tone at all. It was hardly the girls fault he supposed, she one of the fortunate few to....believe in that world still. He hardly needed his own affinity to peer into the depths of her mind to understand that. How fortunate for her to live so long and experience little other than the supposed goodness of the world. How very pleasant that must be- and how much he resented her for it- in a way. Frost merely allowing his eyes to shift away from Elain and focus instead upon the other woman. The blonde. This girl clearly an employee of the cafe and one whom had escaped his notice so far. Frost largely unaware in that moment that she had already been warned, as most of those staff had, to merely abide him. The stallion finding himself readily intrigued with the woman if only because of that newness, because a part of him enjoyed the entertainment she might provide- and because whatever part of him was left took some degree of pleasure in seeing how easily he could make her yield. The woman offering her name readily then. Beylani. That name hardly common and yet he supposed it hardly mattered in any sense.

"Interesting name."

He commented simply once more. Whether or not the man truly found her name intriguing remained to be seen. Frost often prone to those near dead-pan statements. His hand extended effortlessly then, plucking a cupcake from that container before he shifted to lean back against that adjacent table, neither woman affording him any comment. Elain hardly appearing concerned in any sense. Perhaps he liked that one. Beylani seeming to almost consider that very thing before seeming to choose otherwise. The young blonde choosing instead to answer his own query on just how long she had worked here. That relatively short time period of two weeks so explaining how he had failed to note her existence until now. Those notes of....wariness in her tone hardly unnoticed and yet the stallion afforded them little reaction for now. The woman instead choosing to comment on the very fact she had been told about him, both Frost's eyes lifting then, his lip quirking upward in that brief flicker of amusement.

"Oh? What is I you have been told? I would be most intrigued to know. It is Frost- and yes, I am aware my name suits my hair."

His eyes shifted once more back to Elain, as if almost anticipating just that sort of comment from the other woman. Those words were polite once more, if not a little stiff, as if some vague undertone existed all the same. After all, Frost had lost count of the amount of people whom had commented upon his name and his hair and how well that moniker suited him. Not that he supposed he could blame them. Hair so white seemed a near rarity in this city while his homeland practically swam with that shade. His query on just whom had made those cookies readily seeing Elain answer excitedly once more. She was....bolder than Beylani, in the very least she was not quite so reserved. Beylani more wary of him, more cautious- perhaps she was the smarter of the pair, at least when it came to self preservation. Odd, considering she was human when the other was Hunter and yet it seemed Elain was the baker. Frost allowing that simper of sorts to find his lips again.

"You are a good cook, Ellie. I like them."

That much in the least was true. Frost taking another bite of that very cupcake to finish off the treat before he proceeded to eye that box once more, the man reaching out to pluck a second one from its depths as Elain commented upon his eyes and that unusual violet shade that was near as stark as his hair. The woman had brought him cake- perhaps she deserved an answer. Frost's head nodded simply in that moment and yet those words were as cool and honest as always.

"They are a mutation. I was designed to have them- but thank you."

It was hardly a normal answer to such a question and yet Frost rarely saw any need to hide those truths in any sense. Why should he? The truth was often far more intriguing than any lie. His attention shifted once more to Beylani as he continued to lean in anear lackadaisical fashion against that table. Frost hardly rushed or hurried in any sense. The equine the very epitome to of that near unnerving calm. What an interesting mind she had. His own affinity already brushing at it's surface in that silent observation. Frost plucking at those loose threads of idle thought left so untidily in her thoughts. Hmmm. A woman in love. How curious. Frost remaining silent as his fingers tugged a little more off that cake apart to lift to his lips.

"Tell me, do you enjoy working here, Beylani?"

It was an easy question, a simple one really. Just where the equine was going with that line of questioning perhaps remaining to be seen, at least for now. The stallion glancing away from that cupcake to meet the bright blue eyes of the blonde woman once more in clear anticipation off a response. Frost speaking suddenly once more, his words easy then in those smooth tenor tones.

"Although I do wonder how much of your mind is focused on your job and how much is focused on....someone else."

There was almost a tease to those words then, that soft chuckle rising within the back off his throat, the first display of any real emotion from the man as he continued to regarded her, one eye lifting slightly upward in near a challenge to the woman to disagree with him.
