East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

I've forgotten how it felt before...

It was easier to be around Erik than anyone else, I think. Mostly because he distracted me. Well, as much as one could considering I was bound to a group of sadist witches with power over my magical stash. Even though we were setting out on a mission to find my answers, I didn't feel wary with him near me. There was a sort of innate trust there which was odd considering he was a centuries old vampire who I barely knew yet appeared to be very attracted to me. Same for me as well in his direction, though I was uncertain how to go about such a thing. I was still confused over the whole situation I was in and truth be told, I didn't think I could be that fling type of girl. Erik no doubt had been through many, hence his age, but the only real options for a life-long partner for him would be a vampire or perhaps a faerie. I was just a witch and I knew my limits.

That being, I could easily fall in love with Erik and he could just as quickly break my heart.

His playful smirk and words in the kitchen earn him a fake glower and a pinched expression, but it eases into my happy sort of smile. It had been a long while since I had verbally sparred with someone with my own sense of humor. Why did he have to be so damn perfect looking to boot?

It made my eyes roll at his theatrics though it was obvious to both of us that he had certainly got me with his little trick, my heart racing as I step out on the porch. How fascinating how the sun played across his chiseled cheeks. It is autopilot that makes me brush his hair out of his face in a flirtatious way, noting how his eyes suddenly darken and sharpen upon me, my heart slamming in my cage as I gulp. I lean in and kiss his cheek, giggling as I flit away like a bird from a cat, hopping just out of reach. We both knew that Erik could easily take me if he wanted but he keeps his claws sheathed. "A nice jaunt will get those old joints smooth and free from creaking," I jest as I begin to stroll away, peeking to the side at his broad grin.

His words make me bite my lip to hold back a giggle, feeling heat in my cheeks at his dark tone, sensing his perusal even if I didn't see it in action. His answer to my question has a brow rising, a look of curiousness on my face, one that he would fast become used to. I was the curious sort with a never ending stream of questions and a desire for knowledge. "You are really fascinating, Erik," I say genuinely, though even I couldn't tell if I meant his vampire side or just him. I know his LOOKS are quite fascinating in that they range on the too-beautiful side but I decided to keep that info to my self.

"Yes, actually. There is a witch shop in the north I plan to visit. I figured since this is witch magic I might as well start there. If that fails, maybe we can find a faerie." I grimace at the word, an uneasy look on my face making it clear what I thought of faeries. Probably not right to be judgemental but having come from Scotland, I grew up with lots of ancient tales about faeries that colored them in a not so great light. "I'm not really familiar with blood magic or things like curses," I admit. "There is so much that can be learned but my pursuits were more medicinal and earth-kind. Did you know that about a year or two ago I would go to the Ark on the West side and sell potions and charms to the Were-creatures there to help in their fights?" I say the words boldly with a grin, remembering how they had come to know me and accept me there, even if I had never gotten close enough to them.
