The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

She seems surprised by my comment about how she was raised. Maybe it was a bit rude but I've never been a polite person, not when I can help it. She may think I'm teasing her about not partying and drinking and stuff like other girls her age. I won't let her see how relieved I am that she's not like those other girls. For some reason, I want her to be different. She's too smart for that crap. And just the thought of other guys brushing up on her makes my skin crawl in a bad way. It makes me want to rip someone's throat out. Her cheeks flush and I can't help but smirk in amusement. I've always liked seeing a girl with blushign cheeks. She shrugs and I can see that she's pretty innocent when it comes to a man's wants and needs. I kind of like it that way. She says that she was raised in an apartment and that her parents aren't mormons. I laugh a little before shaking my head. "That was sarcasm by the way. If your parents were mormons, I'd really feel sorry for you. Those people miss out on so much." She chuckles too and smiles sweetly before telling me she has an idea what they want but she doesn't stay long enough to find out. "That's a good thing. Clubs aren't the place you want to be." I know I must sound like her parents right about now or something. She seems like a pretty determined young woman. I bet she'll make a grade A veterinarion some day. She seems more worried about her studies than anything else and while I might encourage other things to other women, for her, I'd rather she just keeps sticking her nose to the books. Of course, I don't mind her being mesmerized by my hand at all. It feels rather nice actually. I can practically see the wheels turning in her head as she looks at my palm. I bet she's got tons of questions yet this time for once, she's holding her tongue. How interesting. When she does look up, it's to thank me for helping her and to tell me to blink more. I smirk. "I'll try to remember that. And no problem on the save." She pulls back then with a smile before gesturing to the books. I can see when I'm being dismissed. I chuckle a little and stand. "Then don't let me keep you. And don't worry. I'm sure the rest of my night will pale in comparison to this." I grin playfully and give her a wink. I know she may think me a monster cause of the stories, and for the most part, I am. That doesn't mean I live just for the kill. I follow her to the door, well aware to stay at the space she would feel most comfortable. As we reach the door, I tip my head in farewell with a smile. "Sweet dreams, Isla." I murmur before walking down the steps and out into the night. |
