East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

I'm about to make my own way, heaven help me keep my faith

It had not surprised Kathryn when she had grown homesick so soon after arriving in Sacrosanct. While she loved the taste of a new adventure on her tongue, those first few sunsets had made her heart clench with a longing to just run away and go back home, to her friends who remained, the old house with a tire swing, and her loving grandparents. And while the sunsets here in Sacrosanct had been beautiful, and Kathryn has seen many a sky blazed in a rich gold, blush pinks as the sun would descend from its place in the sky to rest until early morning when it came time for it to rise again. But during this time, she could almost see her Gram's face, her long, dark hair, her pale arms as she wrapped herself around her granddaughter affectionately. And Kathryn would reach her own tanned arms up and hold her Gram's in a sort of cradle. Her grandmother had given Kathryn all the affection she had needed, never remembering her mother showing her such love, only faded memories remaining of splashing around at the pool as she taught Kathryn how to swim at an early age. There were only blurred moments left from her earliest childhood, when her mother would tuck her in, brushing her already then long hair back behind her ears as she let her daughter pick a story for them to read that evening. And sometimes, at the strangest of times, these moments would pick at the girl's heartstrings as they came back to her, however fractured they were. Her grandparents loved her endlessly, raised her in the absence of her own mother, and while she loved them with all her heart and soul, still nothing could ever be quite as warm as the bond between a mother and child.

There had come a point in Kathryn's childhood where she had stopped asking herself why, finding it such a pointless question when there did not seem to be any answer to such a question. Why her mother had reduced herself to no more than a ghost to the nearly midnight haired witch. Fleetingly taking residence in Kathryn's dreams, as translucent as she had been in her waking life. But, in the end, whenever Kat had asked herself that all encompassing, yet entirely unanswerable question of why, she had only ended up hurting herself. And so, she stopped, no longer allowing herself such a feeling and she embraced her new life, motherless, with a late father. An unconventional life, sure, but it was one where she would feel loved by her grandparents, rather than pining after a mother who did not seem to care for her daughter any longer.

She doesn't like, nor appreciate the way his earthen eyes seem to burn right into her tanned skin, like he was attempting to hypnotize her or something. The thought, only briefly, crosses her mind that perhaps he had powers such as Damon had, over the mind, but quickly she shakes away the thought as one may swat away an annoying mosquito, which, coincidentally, is the only thing Kathryn felt she could compare the man with smooth and rich tenor tones to. Maybe, the girl able to bend the zephyrs to her will, maybe she could cook up a storm and simply send him blowing away, although that seemed to just be wishful thinking on the part of the young witch. She would be so lucky. Although, the winds begins to stir around her, as happened whenever her emotions shifted strongly in any direction, and right now, it was clearly irritation. Dark tresses sway playfully in the wind, perhaps even reaching towards the man with chocolate eyes. Though it certainly hinted no indication of how she was feeling towards him. If given the choice, Kathryn would put as many miles between herself and Levi if however possible.

Crystal eyes only grow colder as he grins and once more his words echo towards her reluctant ears. "Warm up yourself, freak," she says, eyes narrowing in warning. Kathryn could typically be considered to be a lot nicer of a person than what she is displaying currently, but this dog of a man was far too persistent and forward for her liking. It seemed as if freezing the man out would not work, behind glacier eyes Kathryn's mind whirls of another way to get rid of Levi, or face spending a long day ahead of her with unwanted company.

He still insists on following her, and Kathryn is tempted to look to see if he has any signs of a dog tag because surely he has run away, though, Kat doubts whoever his owner is would want him back. She had never been too keen on clingy, if she wanted a puppy to follow her around, she would go and get a puppy...not a boy, boyfriend, stranger, creep, or otherwise. The wind continues to pick up around the pair, feeding off her strong emotions, only to settle into a gentle breeze as she takes a calming, albeit patronizing deep breath towards Levi. "It looks like you do need one though," she says, finally allowing those icy blue eyes to look at him after the distance they have traveled. "Did you run off your leash, or were you left? Too bad I don't foster strays," she says, those glacial blues narrowing slightly at him as her sable hair finally falls and rests along her shoulders in not quite the same way it had before.

HIs earthen brown eyes wink at her as they seem to sparkle with some kind of mischief and she had to resist the urge to roll her own of sky blue. You know what, she wont resist, those bright blue eyes find themselves rising upwards, her annoyance visible into not only her ears, but the way her body seems to almost shift away from the doggish man, and the slight clench of her jaw muscle. "It sounds about as much fun as a root canal," she sneers towards him, refusing once again to look at him, trying to avoid any eye contact between himself and her. "Though you seem persistent in following me. I could call the police you know," she says, but even as she speaks the words she knows it is an empty threat and he probably knows it too. Despite his irritating nature, Levi has no threatened her in the slightest and has given her no real call to involve any authority figures. Finally, once more, her attention turns to him, eyes burning hot due to the other coldness of her glacial blue gaze. "Did I do something to warrant this attention from you, I am sure there are other girls who may find you a bit more," she looks him up and down, a look of annoyance on her face. "Endearing than I do," she finishes, a false smile on her face as she blinks pretty blue eyes.
