Taliah merely watches Frost with that observant stare, her emerald eyes locked into him as he asks that rhetorical question. Though, she hardly expects herself to speak in regards to his question, she does, the woman shrugging her shoulders, "Perhaps it isn't someone being ashamed of what they are or what they can do but something else entirely. There are a great number of reasons for someone to hide themselves from the world," Taliah responds with that blank stare. And she knew well that she wasn't ashamed of what she was, however, hiding herself was another story, something she didn't particularly care to relay to this stranger. It's then that he offers his name, the man taking on an almost... playful nature as the faintest of smiles touch his lips. How very curious he was. Yet, Taliah can't help but to return a small smile, that hint of amusement dancing in her eyes positively lighting up her features, "I would encourage you to do so. I admit, it would be rather amusing to watch another's confusion," Taliah responds in a playful way.
Their conversation shifts to more personal matters, Taliah's guard immediately rising in self defense as he begins to question her. The woman states her facts bluntly, Frost's own response not quite satisfying in the least. Though, he doesn't push the issue, which the woman is grateful for. Taking him in once more, she watches the way he shrugs his shoulders slightly before those words exit his lips again, Taliah's brows rising ever so slightly at the compliment. "I don't see any reason to beat around the bush," she responds. Clearly, she wasn't used to the blunt comments and questions, the woman typically being the one asking them, never on the receiving end. When he shifts again, the woman's eyes narrow in on him, not quite trusting him though she wasn't particularly a hostile person by nature, instead, she waits for the briefest of moments before he is handing her those bills.
Truly, she thought she would have to argue with him more about the price of the pie and yet, she was thankful she didn't need to. Extending her own hand, she goes to take the money from him, only for him to suddenly snatch her hand in his own. Taliah's whole body stiffening, her emerald gaze snapping to him with such fierceness, she almost snaps her hand away from him and yet, he beats her to it. Frost releases her almost immediately, Taliah's features positively stony in that moment. Taking the bills, she pulls them closer and sets them on the counter, her green eyes locked into his every movement. She didn't trust him. Not really. He seemed... sly. His humming in his throat causes a Taliah to furrow her brows, the Brazilian woman squashing down the questions in her mind.
His next statement has her blinking blankly at him again, her face rather disinterested, "I haven't decided if I could say the same yet or not," she murmurs at him, again those words entirely blunt. She hardly feels bad and she didn't care to lie to someone, even if she didn't know them. Shrugging, "I'm glad you enjoyed your pie, perhaps the next time we meet, I won't have to argue with you about my prices," she states. Reaching up, she pushes those loose strands of hair from her face once more, "Have a good day, Frost."
