East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

She sips her latte again, watching Jayden watching her. The thought crosses her mind that maybe she never should have sat with him, but now that she's there, she has no particular desire to get up. She glances quickly out the window--almost full dark now, and she certainly had no desire to go out in the night in a strange city. Not with the way darkness made her little more than human, and not in a place she hadn't even been in for five hours. She'd have to eventually, of course, but first there's the matter of this ignorant human to see to.

He looks young, even by her standards, and by fae standards Marrea herself is hardly more than a child. She crosses her right leg over her left, settling herself more comfortably. His last sentence prompts a smile and a low, throaty chuckle from the little fae.
"Come now, ma cherie, do truly look threatening to you? Standing at just two scant inches over five feet and with her delicate, graceful body, Marrea hardly looked capable of hurting anyone. And truth be told, fae are not violent creatures--mischievous, merry, and wicked in the most unthreatening way, faeries above all others want humans to leave them alone. With no true means to defend themselves, save glamours and weak earth-connected magics, the only things that set them apart from humans are their immortality and their strong connection to the natural world. The fair folk are more like nature sprites than anything else.

"And as for unnatural, I'll have you know that my father was walking the hills of Ireland before humans ever laid eyes on that island. But when they did get there, his clan welcomed them with open arms. We're a gentle people." She smirks at him, a slightly dangerous expression. "Usually."
