East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

Saturday! At long last! Though, of course this did not provide any relief for the crimson haired boy for he still needed to study over the weekend of course. But today he has been taking it easy, he had went for a run and showered, his chestnut hair still a bit wet from bathing, but quickly drying. He runs the towel over his chestnut hair one more time for good measure before hanging it up on the door to his dorm. He can seem from his window that it looks as thought the weather had most certainly shifted to autumn and a lopsided grin finds his face easily. Malachi has always been easy-going enough. He doesn't start fights and never goes out of his way to cause trouble--this he gets from his father--but he is never quite the same by himself. Without Alia beside him he feels alone almost. She next to him, leaning against him as his little sister always did, the siblings had never been far from one another, even when it came to their birth order, she was only two years behind him. But Alia isn't here, his fiery sister who always seemed to stand up when Malachi thought it better not to cause trouble. While russet haired Malachi had been close to Lisabet, his older sister, she had always had her own activities and her own friends with the age gap between them, and so the two russet haired children had clung to one another from day one.

But Malachi would have to learn to adjust, still the two siblings kept an almost constant string of texts going in between them.Whether they simply sent one another silly pictures that reminded one of the other, or just updating each other on their days, so unused to not seeing one another throughout the day in their school's hallways, Alia only a year behind Malachi in school. He runs a hand through russet hair, steadily growing messier as it continued to dry. He then makes one futile attempt to tame the mess of crimson before giving up as usual and letting it be. Malachi pulls a maroon sweater over his head and pairs it with a pair of moss green pants and brown shoes before he heads out the door and down the stairs and eventually to the outside world.

A sigh passes from his lips as an autumn breeze flutters past him. The sun is high overhead, hanging lackadaisically just as it always is. Its heat kisses his skin and comforts him as the coolness of the air sends a chill through him. A smile comes to his face as he stands there outside his dorm building. It's a beautiful, charming but deadly smile, it's a smile to hollow out your bones and steal your heart, though of course Malachi posses no such intentions, being the sweet and shy boy that he was. For he is an infinitely warm and kind individual. Malachi has always prided himself on doing the best he could to remain truthful. He tried his best at everything he did, but like every mortal creature he could strive for perfection but he would never reach it. Malachi did not reach for perfection, though. He knew inside him, his emotional self that there was still something broken and empty, some part of himself that had forgotten how to laugh or smile when he saw a bluebird stretch its wings at the first light of day and without the presence of his siblings and mother to steady him, he felt oddly isolated.

The boy with auburn hair has surprised himself to find that he has wound up on the east side of town, right in the heart of downtown. With its towering buildings that kiss the sky and endless parade of lights and shops. He stares around in awe, for this was certainly far different than his medium sized town in which he had grown up in, where there may have been tall buildings, but for the most part everything seemed to be kept quite modest. A lopsided grin finds his face as green eyes peer up in wonder and appreciation. Hand runs unconsciously through chestnut hair as he continues walking, stopping occasionally here and there to peer into the shops. He looks admiringly into a shop with sailing equipment, he missed sailing with his father. The time had been sacred father and son time, due to the fact his mother hated being out on the water, and his sisters had shown little interest, thus it had been the perfect time to get away for some boy time as they liked to call it. The chestnut haired young man finally peels emerald eyes away as he continues walking, the city bustling with Saturday activity and crowds.

That is when the crimson haired young man can hear his stomach begin to rumble. It seems as if he would need to eat something and soon too. It would just so happen then that roaming green eyes spot a bakery not too far from where he was, just a few blocks it would seem. When he reaches the entrance he pulls open the door as one last autumn breeze rustles his russet locks before he steps inside. Immediately the russet haired boy's senses are assaulted by the smell of freshly baked bread and goodies. As well as coffee, tea, and steamed milk. It was overwhelming in the best way possible. Emerald eyes close for a moment to take everything in as he goes to stand in line. Those leaf green eyes look to the menu with a lopsided grin on his face as he tries to come up with what he wanted to order. "Sir," the barista says, trying to catch Malachi's attention. "Oh, sorry," he utters, lips still quirking into a smile. "Can I just get a peppermint tea?" He asks, sure, it wasn't quite Christmas time (not that Malachi celebrated Christmas anyway), but Malachi enjoyed the taste of peppermint any time of the year. And then he has a second thought. "And that pumpkin cupcake looks delicious," he adds, not able to resist something sweet. "Sure thing," the barista says brightly, causing Malachi to grin. He then pays the woman before finding himself a table near the window to watch as the autumn breeze as it makes the leaves dance in an array of color and beauty.
