I'm about to make my own way, heaven help me keep my faith The lithe witch was beginning to feel as if she had started to develop a routine here in Sacrosanct, especially since gaining her new internship. On a typical week day she would wake up, blue eyes fluttering open, the sunlight nearly sparkling within their pale depths. She would get up and open her curtains the remainder of the way so that the natural light of the sun would stream in as she rubs the sleep from her icy blue eyes. And then the dark haired witch would settle the blankets over her bead before moving into the bathroom to get ready, baby blue eyes looking over her appearance one last time in a mirror before deeming it acceptable. God forbid she turn up to her internship in any sort of messy fashion. No doubt Mr. Burton would never let her live it down. Kathryn would then leave the house, of course without any time to make coffee meaning she would need to stop at Inner Sanctum to get her order to go on her way to the office. Being just an intern as well as a student, Kathryn was only working half days, typically in the morning and then going to school, occasionally stopping by Inner Sanctum again on her way to class to get another caffeine fix before enduring hours of class followed by hours of homework and whatever work Mr. Burton gave to the girl to complete for the next day before she collapsed into bed exhausted, sleeping with dreams of witches and dark hunters and vampires before waking up and having to do it all over again. But today it was different, today it was one of those rare moments of freedom. A Friday. Although not a typical weekend day, it was a day when Kathryn had nothing to do in the morning, her internship being in the afternoon, so she would have all morning to herself. Spending the time either reading, or simply just taking in the day, though her latest venture had been reading the spell books her Gram had sent to her. Though this morning she finds herself at the coffee shop, alone, but she had not been alone for long. She cannot help the almost cheeky grin that slides onto her lips as he hovers above the chair, his earthen eyes looking to her own of a blue so bright it rivals the glacial ice of the deep southern hemisphere. His own gentle smile a welcomed expression when Kathryn had grown so used to the cold earthen gaze and stern face of Mr. Burton. He lowers himself into the chair and those blue eyes shift to the large folders that seemed perhaps full to bursting. Sure, there was a lot of paperwork involved in Kathryn's internship, but still, it wasn't that much. What could be possibly do for a living? She takes a sip of her coffee, eyes closing for a brief moment, enjoying the rush only caffeine could offer the young witch. She meets his eyes with her own once more as he answers her question. "Hmmm," she contemplates, gaze glancing downwards at the stack, his attire, and the professional demeanor he exuded, yet there was almost something personable about him, the way he smiled, talked, interacted. "I guess I will give it a go," she says, pausing once more as if to confirm her guess was correct. "Do you work in law? Perhaps an attorney?" Kathryn guesses, squinting her eyes towards him, but then thinking perhaps it was incorrect. Only his own answer in turn would confirm or deny. "Your turn," she says with grin, looking at the man with her bright, glacial gaze. "What do you think I do?" Kathryn questions as she takes another sip, of her coffee, finding herself enjoying the time spent with a stranger in a coffee shop. |
