The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

Her embarrassment only lasts for an awkward moment as he slides her into the car, the man even going so far as to buckle her in. She was far too exhausted to argue, though she can't help but keep a small noise of protest from escaping her lips as she folds her hands gingerly in her lap. Her confusion must have been written all over her face, she had truly though Oliver was married, she didn't realize that Edgar was talking about his Mrs. It was a bizarre thing, no one talked like that here! So, she doesn't say anything for a moment until the car begins to move and conversation begins to flow once more. He inquires about her, and oddly enough, Miya provides him with answers, his response not quite what she accepted but thankful he didn't coo his sympathies at her. Though, she's momentarily distracted by his terminology, 'humans, mate' it was all very strange but she doesn't get a chance to ask him on it before he's questioning her once more. "I couldn't agree more with you," she states, nodding her head slightly, she didn't realize someone else would be so... passionate about her job for her. She didn't know this man and yet, he was showing more... well, he seemed to care more than any of the upper management at the hospital ever did. It almost made her feel a bit uncomfortable, and yet, at the same time it was also a relief to have a conversation about it, "Um, the downtown Sacrosanct branch, you know... the really big one in the city," she states, not entirely sure why she tacked on the end of that statement. He lived here for god's sake, he would know what branch she was talking about!
As the car pulls up to a stop, she doesn't have a moment to argue as he's around the vehicle in no time, scooping her into his arms. She opens her mouth to protest and yet, Oliver practically growls at her, telling her to stop fighting him. Shutting her lips, she folds her arms in the most defiant way she possibly can, "Fine," she mutters under her breath as Oliver bids Edgar a goodbye and they begin the trek up the stairs. She's silent except for when she's giving him directions, only for them to reach her apartment door as she shimmies in his arms to retrieve her keys, even when she thanks him she's momentarily startled by his own gentle words. Miya doesn't respond as she shoves the key into the lock and lets them both in. She tried to turn him away, to make him let her down and yet, he's nearly as stubborn as she is, refusing to put her down or leave her until she was taken care of. The petite woman can't help but glare at him for a moment before releasing a sigh of submission. There was no way she could get him to leave, let alone force him out of her apartment. Still, even as he puts her down she still attempts to get him to leave and still he refuses. There was no winning this battle and her head hurt too much to argue, so as she slowly adjusts to supporting her own body, she can feel her legs quiver beneath her but they hold her weight.
Dropping her purse to the floor, her dainty hands grip onto Oliver's arm, not ready to let go yet. So, she decides she would utilize him since he insisted on staying, though, she hardly wanted his help, she was going to get it no matter what. Conceding to him, she hangs on to him as the world begins to stop spinning and her eyes focus a bit on the couch in front of them. His next question has her snapping her gaze back up to him, only to send her head spinning once more. Closing her eyes, she takes a deep breath before responding, "We can't turn up the heat," she says simply, not wanting to admit she couldn't afford the electric bill if they did so. Instead, she tosses him a glare as he demands she sit down, how badly she wanted to resist him and yet, the couch did sound nice, so she does just that, finally releasing the death grip on his arm. His next statement has Miya glancing up at him as she settles into the well worn material, sighing she finally nods at him, "My med kit is there, in the kitchen," she points to a leather bag nestled on the counter, "There is a tea kettle on the stove and tea right next to it, mugs are in the cabinet to the left of the sink," she murmurs with a gesture of her hand before it falls back to her lap.
"You're awfully bossy," she mutters at him just as he turns away and yet, she's entirely uncertain, she can't help but let a brief but tired smile touch her lips as a memory of her overly bossy mom came to mind. He didn't really remind her of her mom but that bossiness was on a whole new level, she could imagine her own mother saying that Miya finally met her match on the level of stubbornness. The smile doesn't last long as she watches him move about the ramshackle apartment, her fingers reaching up to daintily press against the wound on the back of her head. A small noise escapes her lips as she winces, quickly putting her hand down and making sure to not look at the blood on her fingertips. "We need to wash the dirt and blood out of my hair first..." she trails off, a bit uncomfortable at the idea, "Um... I'll need a little... help," she mumbles out, refusing to make eye contact with him. She spent all night insisting she didn't need help and here she was, asking him, "I do need to warn you about something, the sight of my blood makes me faint, so I can't look at it," she blushes profusely, finally admitting the reason why she didn't want to go to the hospital. Her coworkers would never let her hear the end of it! A doctor that faints at the sight of her own blood?! It would be mortifying!
"And before you say anything, it doesn't make me any less of a doctor just because I can't stand the sight of my own blood," she says a bit more loud, embarrassment coloring her face as she finally looks at him, her chocolate eyes defiant in every sense.
