Despite Arya being an only child, she had a plethora of younger cousins that had helped make the young woman good with children. Children were the embodiment of innocence, a clean slate that was shaped by their interactions with the world and people around them. How easy it was to plant the seeds in them that grew and bore sour fruit and rotten apples, but at the same time it was just as easy to sow them with kindness and help them grow into wonderful individuals. Arya loved watching children grow and learn, it was one of the reasons she worked at the aquarium; nothing made the young woman happier than watching children light up as they interacted with marine life, the fascination as they got to hold a sea star or see a sea lion for the first time. Perhaps another reason she was so good with kids was because of her affinity. Arya could sympathize with them and their emotions, how strongly they felt things and how overwhelming such a large strange world could be. It was nice being able to calm them, help them tone down their emotions. The Were loved helping others, and that was exactly why she did not hesitate to follow after the young fae girl as she wandered alone into a bar.
The brunette woman tried her best not to spook the young blonde girl sitting at the table. She couldn't help but be relieved when she let her sit down next to her, and her delight when Arya ordered the same non alcoholic drink as her. She beamed back at the girl as she explained how good the drink was at that it was possible to order it with two whole cherries. "Two whole cherries? That's quite the special drink" she said, watching as the young girl radiates with happiness. At Least now she was drinking an age appropriate drink, but that still didn't explain why the bartender gave the obviously too young girl wine. Given the chance she'd question him, but for now Arya was still worried about the young fae's lack of a guardian; Sacrosanct was hardly a safe place for a child to be wandering by themselves. She thanked the bartender when he brought her a shirley temple, handing him her card to pay for not only hers, but also the young girls as well.
The young fae was sweet, complimenting her name as Arya introduced herself. "Ah what a beautiful name you have Maeve, it definitely suits you," the were woman returned the compliment. Maeve was a very recognizable name, meaning if she ever heard someone looking for the young girl there was a good chance this would be her. Maeve didn't seem like she was abandoned, a runaway was more likely. Arya just wanted to make sure the young girl was safe, which meant finding her guardians; unless of course the blonde girl had run from an abusive household, in which case Arya would gladly take care of her, atleast find her a safe place to stay. She quickly moved the conversation on to the young fae's backpack with the disney character Moana on it. She couldn't help the sense of irony that Maeve liked tinker bell. Perhaps she felt a kinship with the cartoon character, or maybe it was just because most young girls liked Tinker Bell. "I quite like Tinker Bell too, I think my favorite is the Ariel from the Little Mermaid," she said with a grin, knowing the irony in her favorite as well as a Were seal. It was surprising, however, when Maeve continued and explained how she liked Belle because of their shared love of books. "Oh you're a little book worm? Aren't they so wonderful? I love reading too, it's like being transported to a whole new world, going on a whole adventure," she grinned, finding she quite liked having another appreciate books the way she did, though Maeve was still quite young.
The brunette woman was so caught up in the conversation with the young fae she almost didn't notice the arrival of another. Amber eyes turned as she watched none other than Tetradore walking in to the bar, her eyebrow slightly arching, curious as to why he was here but she quickly offered him a friendly smile. "Hey Tetradore," she returned his greeting, but her smile quickly faded as a deep blush overtook her face at his next words. Her cheeks seemed exceptionally puffy as she pouted at him and his joke about her being invasive. She still felt absolutely terrible about what had happened, and had been increasingly more hesitant to use her power on others for fear of triggering them like she had the other Were. Arya laughed lightly as Maeve insisted that the older woman was not invasive and that she liked her, causing the Were seal to stick her tongue out at Tetradore in a teasing 'yeah see' kind of way. Her and little Maeve were definitely friends now. She watched as his attention shifted from the two girls, to the bartender who approached. Their interaction was...interesting, they spoke of another whom was clearly not here and known by the both.
She blinked in surprise though as the prospect of lunch was brought up. Arya having until now all but forgotten about lunch or really all of her days plans, she had been so concerned about Maeve. She glanced down at the clock on her phone, frowning slightly. Perhaps she would have to go shopping later. She blinked in surprise when her stomach growled lightly, as if telling her to take up the offer and eat. "Oh...uh sure," she mumbled slightly, suddenly feeling so shy about accepting Tetradores offer. This would be the second time he'd fed the young brunette woman. Well technically Matteo fed her, but those are minor details and it was Tetradores hospitality. She gently took the menu handed to her and scanned through it, listening as Maeve was quick to ask for macaroni and cheese. "Can I have the Tuna salad sandwich please," she asked quietly, knowing just how it sounded that the seal was asking for a meal with fish in it. Arya definitely fit the stereotype and absolutely loved fish. Amber eyes glanced over to Maeve as she whispered something to Tetradore, the young woman placing the menu back down as she could only wonder what this apparent secret was. Her pinniped hearing was not good enough to hear. She quietly sipped on her drink, unsure of what to say or how to approach asking Maeve about why she was alone.
