The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

You know for a big old ancient Dark Hunter he was very soft hands. Like who would have thought? The man had soft hands. Maybe he cared about hygiene? What guy has that thought? Well, he isn't of this modern age. Which is a good thing I think. I mean the man has manners. I could throw a stone in any direction in this damn town and my stone wouldn't hit another man that had manners. And soft hands. Yes, let's not forget this. I cannot help myself, but I eagerly pressed my head more into his hand, moving it slightly so he could get a few spots he wasn't getting. Because apparently in this horse body I have spots that crave to be stroked, like right there to the right of my long nose, right....yeeeessss right there. Don't you dare move your hand yet, because I positioned my face just right for that scratch. Scracthy, scratchy, scratchy. Ah, this is wonderful. Now I understand why dogs love getting their bellies scratched, because this is heaven. Aww man he stopped. Well, I guess that is okay...for now. Both ears twitch back and forth as he makes a mention that no one in the Council would be informed of me being an accomplice of murder. Well, that is a very good thing. Lifting my head I turn it around to scan the place. Not a soul could be seen. I guess he had a point. Gently I poke his side with my nose to encourage the man to do those scratchy things. Well, no I guess there is no witness, because the rhino is dead now....and oh my god....HOW THE HELL DID YOU KNOW WHAT I WAS THINKING?
I jerk my nose away from his side and look down at him in shock and awe. Well, as much as a horse's face could show such a thing. Both ears are pointed towards him now. What sort of sorcery is this? Can he know my thoughts all the time? He can't right? I mean I got personal things I want to think about that should stay only in my head. Because it is safe there, all my thoughts. I mean what if I am thinking something that should be private, you know? Like those are my thoughts buddy. If I wanted you know them I'd say them to you. Okay, so maybe I can't talk as a horse. But like still, you know what I mean. What else did he hear or know? His comment about my Uncle makes my ears lace backwards against my skull in annoyance. Uncle Azrael only knew me for like two years. He never knew I existed. And that is such a Father thing to say...he must be telling the truth if he claims to have kids of his own. Although, why haven't I heard of his protégés? I mean you'd think they would try to conquer the world in his name too.
As we head over to his demolished café I think he needs to see this as an opportunity. I mean the place is pretty crowded. He could have a better floorplan if he bought the building next to his. Then he can actually provide more space for the guests to sit and enjoy. I mean there are business around us so they could do their little meetings here, there's a lot of teenagers that come here to hang out...and they pay. Let's not forget he hated the flooring and now he can fix it. I would say these things to him, but I think I should tell him tomorrow. I mean the café is like a materialistic child. I mean it is his business. It's very important to him. So, you know I get it. I shouldn't walk and complain about his place or give it suggestions. He's been through a lot and now he's gotta start the process of fixing it all. Snorting softly I place my head against him because what I have to say is...thoughtful.
"I'm not sure how you can hear me, but I am giving you permission to hear this. Thank you for letting me help you. I actually got to help Alexander the freaking Great. God, I hope he didn't hear that last part."
I lift my head away from his side and shake it for a moment to get that silvery forelock out of my eyes. Good. I can see. Now I get to walk in the cold rain...all the way to my house. I am SO going to have to eat soup and take a very long and warm shower. Turning around I head on over towards home taking my time to walk, because I am a very long horse and I will do as I please.
