East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

The rumbling of thunder as it crashed overhead drew the vibrant emerald gaze of the impassive Alpha. The torrential downpour outside loudly rattled against the glass panes of that the quaint loft, filling the silence that surrounded them. His gaze shifted as Taliah placed the French Press upon the stove, the sound of flicking flames and the whizz of gas promised that, soon, a warm cup of coffee would be nestled in the palms of his hands. A soft sigh left his lips, the blanket draped over his naked form was hardly warm enough to bring the man comfort, though he said little of his discontent. His attention refocused upon the petite form of the young woman as Taliah settled in front of the fireplace, folding her slender legs against her chest as she placed her cheek against her knee. Tetradore made no effort to fill the silence that persisted between them, both souls, perhaps, inclined to exist in relative tranquility in the stillness. It was a single query that finally broke quiet and yet, it was hardly enough to provoke a conversation from the stoic Alpha. His own answer, in fact, was nothing short of brief - though he had distinctly little to say of his life within that busy metropolis. Too much of it had been spent within the cold embrace of that singular dance club, the stories he had from such a place to chilling to tell. Rather, Tetradore merely redirected her efforts as he inquired after the world that existed beyond those city limits.

Her own single worded retort caused the corner of his lips to drift downwards ever so slightly. Perhaps it had been naive of him to believe that life outside of Sacrosanct was somehow...better. His gaze shifted away from her and towards the flickering flames within the hearth, at least, until Taliah made some effort to continue. His head tilted to the side as she spoke wistfully of the climate, the temperature, and the rain. He would have liked to visit such a place and yet, that lingering sorrow prompted Tetradore to inquire softly, "Why don't you ever return home?" What here had been alluring enough to drag her away from such a world? The sound of sizzling water caused his own gaze to shift back towards the stove as Taliah quickly moved to her kitchen. His irises followed her as she moved towards the sofa, setting the cups on the table beside him. How...nice that coffee looked, the very warmth appealing to him as she offered him a cup. Delicately, Tetradore took the cup into his hands, cradling it in his fingers if only to steal the warmth from the very beverage. He was all too content to sip at the coffee as Taliah settled at his side, tucking her legs beneath her.

That query of why he stayed, however, was a difficult one to answer truthfully. He lingered because he had no choice but to and yet, he had no desire to tell her the very depths of all the reasons why he remained here. Instead, a small shrug crossed Tetradore's shoulders. "I have responsibilities here...and people who need me." His answer was likely not as detailed as Taliah would have liked and yet, it was all he had to offer. Thankfully, she seemed unbothered by this, her attention deviating elsewhere. He watched her as she slowly extended one leg and then the other towards him, slipping her feet just under the blanket. Her explanation caused his eyebrow to rise and yet, he said nothing as he brought his mug to his lips. After all, that towel was still fastened around his hips beneath those layers of fabric of her blanket. His irises shifted back towards her as she inquired just why he had become an Alpha in the first place. For a moment, Tetradore eyed her blankly. He had fallen into that role all too naturally, initially. His younger sibling and his closest friend had returned with ease to the roles of their youth - before the pack had simply expanded in the fashion that they so often did.

Tetradore's eyebrows furrowed as his gaze turned away. "My father was the Alpha before me. I was always meant to inherit the pack." He had never considered life beyond his role as Alpha - he was born with that dominant blood flowing within him. It was who he had always been. That sudden brush against his side caused his gaze to dart back down towards her feet, though Tetradore hardly seemed perturbed. Another shrug crossed his shoulders, "It's fine." He retorted simply, the man far too used to having his personal space violated to take any sort of offense to that touch.
