East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

They were a cacophony of juxtaposition, two polar opposites perhaps destined to only ever orbit one another crossing paths at a few stellar moments in time. Curled against the steely cool planes of his chest within which lay a heart that would never beat again, whilst her own thrummed on at a pace higher than that of the average human, the warmth of her body trying without success to breach the pallor of his own. Hers a existence of eternal life while would forever lie immortalized in death. And yet such two creatures in stellar moments such as these could find shelter within one another... or at least she had found some here tonight. Despite the storm that had been raging in her life for the past few years, here tonight she finally felt at peace and she would soak that up as long as it lasted.

For that reason, and the plethora of obvious physical reasons, she remained rather determined in her position placed so securely in Sebastian's lap despite his moderate efforts to put space between them. Tonight he was her life preserver, her safe harbor, the escape she hadn't known she needed but he had offered. Most of it was the cocktail of the whiskey and his venom that coursed through her body, but the undeniable pull between them had always been there despite how little they truly knew about each other. The Italian that fell so easily from his lips a perfect example, a skill she would not have expected but was more than happy to sit there listening to it all night. The feel of his palm against her cheek only cementing the experience before her bright hazel eyes turned back to him. She was pleased to see the sly upturn of his lips, her own mirroring it at his retort to her comment as her body wiggled perhaps a bit more than was necessary in his lap as she leaned forward slightly "I'm happy to feel whatever your body wants to express." she whispered huskily, thick with innuendo. She was brazen on a good day, and with everything going on now none of her few filters remained to stop Carolina saying exactly what was on her mind.

The topic of her taste had someone drawn a more serious note to their conversation, but Carolina found it oddly fascinating at the moment. As a carnivore herself she ate meat and blood on the regular but for her it all had the same iron metallic taste, with the occasional variety from animal to animal. That she would have her own unique flavor to him, and one that he seemed to enjoy so greatly, pleased a dark part of her. "Well, you will have to let me see how you taste someday," she purred, tempted to reach up and nibble that sensitive flesh at the base of his neck once more but settling for letting her tongue run gently over her luscious lips. She was momentarily distracted by the arrival of their drinks, leaning forward to take the warm glass between her hands before shimmying backwards once more and settling herself even more firmly into Sebastian's lap. His next comment drawing her attention if not her gaze and prompting her slightly disjointed and slurred response.

The air between them settled somewhat heavily with the revelation that Carolina for all intents and purposes was currently homeless. All of her meagre possessions were shoved into the back of a rusted-out car complete with a slightly mangy gray tabby who had somehow followed her through thick, thin, and thinner. A part of her couldn't help but feel ashamed but it was quelled at least slightly by the cool firmness of his fingers dancing across her cheek and tilting her face back up to him. Her brows drawing together slightly as they tried to process the first part of his comment, lingering there before taking in the rest of it. She gave him a soft smile, "Something tells me you've never had to steal a heart before, Sebastian, and I doubt you'd need to start with mine. I'm sure it could be served on a silver platter and taste like chocolate cake" She gave a soft laugh before acknowledging the latter part of his statement, she had forgotten that rather vital part of being the undead. She had no clue what time it was, and while she was nocturnal by nature naturally it made sense that Sebastian would be so due to necessity. "I forgot you probably need to get.. home before daybreak. I... I have a car parked not too far away. You can just leave me there. I'll be fine." She gave him what she hoped was a convincing smile, letting her finger run across the faint stubble on his chin before her eyes fell away once more, she had no issues being left on her own as that was the most consistent part of her life, but she wasn't quite ready for their time together to end. "I'm getting a key to a place in River Dale tomorrow morning, I'll be fine." Her blue-green eyes swam back to his, reveling in their crystalline hue and hoping that while she saw the appeal of being taken care of she was capable of taking care of herself. She always did, because no one else ever had.
