The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

He seemed shocked when she asked him about the surfboard, repeating the question back to her and she shrugged her shoulders and shook her head, almost feel embarassed in this moment that yet again, she was an idiot when it came to the human side of being a Were. Every time she thought she was catching up, someone threw another monkey wrench into it. He tried to explain, saying it was a board that you stand on and ride waves with. She tilted her head and scrunched up her nose in confusion. "But how do you stand in the water? Doesn't everything sink?" She hadn't come across any shows about surfing so far so she had no idea how they stand on a board and make it stay afloat. Every time she got in the water, she sank to the bottom. Of course, she could doggy paddle like a pro in her coyote form but she hadn't moved that over to her human side yet. She hadn't even been in deep water yet in her human form. The idea made her a little nervous. At least he seemed happy enough to teach her, nodding with a smile as he said he'd be delighted to. She beamed back at him in response, her eyes twinkling like stars in excitement. She loved learning new things. Just like learning about him. Anything and everything that made him who he was, she wanted to know. At least he was willing to be honest and tell her things. He seemed happy enough with what she said about him being different. She meant every word of it but hoped that he just believed what she told him. There was definitely nothing wrong with him. He said that the girls wanted something different and he wanted someone who loved him supported him, someone for life. She couldn't help but smirk a little. "Like animals, you look for a mate instead of just a temporary good time like a human." She could respect that and hoped he didn't take offense to her take on what he said. She thought it was sweet that he wanted one person for the rest of his life instead of taking strangers home like seemed to be the theme for most humans. When he blushed, she tilted her head a little in puzzlement. What was this redness in the cheeks and why did he do it? She hadn't seen anyone blush before. Henry certainly never did. Then he said that he didn't mean to burden that with her just yet and she lifted a brow, her lips tugging into a smirk. "Burden? I find it refreshing. I'm glad you didn't wait to tell me." She turned back to where they were walking and sighed softly, seeing the steps to the pack house coming up. She pointed it out as they got closer. "This is me." She walked up to the front steps, turning back to Ashton. "I really appreciate you walking me. I hope I run into you again some time, and it doesn't have to be in a club. You know where I live now so you gotta let me know when you want to do those surfing lessons." She smirked, her eyes glittering at him teasingly. |
