The way in which the young fae ducked behind her was surprising. Besides her own children using her as a veritable shield, she was unused to another child seeking safety behind her. It wasn't like there had really been a situation to warrant it before either. Nadya raised a brow though placed a reassuring hand on Maeve's shoulder as she gently explained who Frost is before allowing her mate to do the same. Despite his lack of knowledge on how to speak to children, Frost wasn't someone who would harm them. A small smirk danced upon her lips at Maeve's shy and innocent question about love, "Yes, I do love him." Those precious words had finally been spoken between the couple a few weeks prior so felt much more natural to say aloud now.
Maeve's equal formal introduction to Frost as she finally slipped out from behind Nadya had the woman relaxing greatly. Having Maeve feel safe was important to the woman. If Maeve had been a Were she was sure to convince Frost to let her join them...but she was fae and there were things being that could only be taught by being with other fae. Nadya sent the twins to go color in the office until Frost was able to take them home with him. Only then did she turn her attention back on Maeve to question her about why and perhaps who would be scaring her. Nadya frowned deeply at Maeve's recount of the tale. It seemed her brother continued to have a knack on caring and protecting about others more than his own blood.
Nadya could only caste Frost a pointed glance. Although he was right, there were perhaps better ways to teach Maeve about the dangers around her than downright frightening her. Nadya cast a quick glance to the studio to ensure everyone was preoccupied before crouching down in front of Maeve to be on her level. "What Frost means is that there are certain people, no matter what species they are, that you have to be careful of. It's not safe for a child to be wandering around on their own. You should stay away from the woods and the West for that matter. Hunters and other...bad people like to hang around those places. I know you said my brother and Tobi saved you last time but they aren't always around. You said you've been staying with this Andras person. If he is a good person then make sure he takes you to places, just no more walking around alone." If the hunters now had wind of a fae child wandering around then they were more likely to try to find her once more. Not being alone was the best solution.
"As for today, you can stay here and join in any of the classes you want. I'll take you back to Andras after. Ok? Now why don't you go ahead and go stretch with the girls in the studio?" Nadya straightened and motioned for Maeve to go ahead. They were only slightly older so had no doubt they would show the younger girl what to do. Nadya crossed her arms over her chest to regard Frost once Maeve was no longer in ear shot. "You wouldn't happen to know anything about this Andras would you?" Nadya wasn't sure she wanted to return the girl to his care if Frost knew he wasn't good. Didn't she see Sebastian in the paper having married that fae Dorian? Perhaps she should reach out to them and see if they'd look after Maeve. She knew Seb wouldn't have married a bad fae so had faith in taking the girl to them.
