East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

An nì a thig leis a'ghaoith, falbhaidh e leis an uisge

Taro studied the ancient knife and twirled it expertly across and between his fingers. He'd found the object over a thousand years ago and since then had been trying to obtain knowledge as to it's origins. He sensed the magical nature it contained...he just had no clue what it did. If anything. Well, this was a new town and therefore new witches and warlocks to be sought out. He'd be on this particular venture long enough. He wanted some answers.

The ancient, forever immortalized boy, waited until dark. His own home was light tight and with his age, the sun held no power over him. Unless he stepped outside. That was another matter altogether. Slowly, the sky darkened and night descended. With his Vampire speed he was within the shopping district on the East side within moments. Now to find the whoodoo, voodoo, witchery type dealings. Should be easy enough. Right?

He strode down the main street, veered off to the left and followed the scent of magic lingering on the air. He pauses in front of a glass door, looking within to see a young woman manning the counter. Laptop open, brown hair cascading around her shoulders. Huh. He'd been expecting an older crone...not this...girl. With a sigh he grasps the handle and enters the shop, making sure to open it soundlessly. He always had hated those annoying bells.

Taro approaches the counter, his pale blue/grey eyes filled with knowledge and power that his sixteen year old face did not portray. He does his best to suppress his aura. When you get to be as old and powerful as he had gotten, you notice that your presence tends to overwhelm some people. With a nod, and a smile that doesn't quite make it he speaks. His voice is soft with the hint of an accent you just can't place. Likely from a language no longer spoken or remembered by anyone but him.

"Hello. I'm looking to have an ancient knife looked at. Can you help me?"

He draws the ancient relic from the inside pocket of his leather jacket. He places it on the counter and lifts his pale gaze to hers. He waits. Wondering if this will be yet another dead end.
