The Were-King's brows knitted together at the very mention of his father's name - the man entirely incapable of helping the concern that fluttered through his chest. For so long, Matteo had been a meticulously guarded secret for the Alpha, one he had tightly clung to in more ways than one. It set him on edge, the manner in which Matteo had begun to reveal himself to the numerous souls that surrounded Tetradore, particularly when the threat of the Were's mistress was still at large. Every additional being that knew of the Frenchman was yet another way in which she might discover the fae - a prospect that Tetradore keenly wished to avoid. A soft sigh left his lips as his emerald eyes turned back towards the road, Maeve's vague explanation failing to provide any answers to soothe the Were-King. God, he could only hope that Matteo knew what he was doing. That trust the Alpha had in the fae entirely resolute, even despite that worry he would never voice. For now, however, he chose not to press the child beside him the topic, Tetradore instead falling to the silence that so often personified him.
Thankfully, Maeve's eagerness more than made up for Tetradore's stoicism, the girl near wiggling in her seat as the pair neared the restaurant. A small simper crossed the Hispanic's lips as he smoothly maneuvered the luxurious sports car into a parking spot. He had only just put the vehicle in park and turned off the engine when Maeve unbuckled herself, the girl clearly beside herself with her own excitement. Truthfully, he had never seen anyone so thrilled for their birthday before, though distinctly few birthdays were celebrated within the depths of the hell he had grown up within. Nevertheless, Tetradore was willing to fall into the role of the handsome suitor he'd been cast into, at least for tonight. His fingers reached out for the inlaid door handle, pulling the door open for the bounding little girl. Maeve was quick to jump out of the car, her slender fingers gingerly flattened down the fabric of her dress, only to look up at him with large lavender eyes.
The young child's sudden declaration that he was the best, however, entirely caught the man off guard. He was never called the best quite in the same way he was sure she meant it. Too often the Were-King was cursed for his very existence - this all but uncharted territory for the man. "Uhh....thanks?" He inquired his hand raising to rub the back of his neck. Truly, he was certain he hadn't deserved her praise - at least not yet. Nevertheless, Tetradore led the way into the Red on the Water, the pair quickly seated in a booth beside a window. Tetradore doubted, truthfully, that either of the pair required the menus placed in front of them and yet, he was willing to give the fae child a moment to overlook it all the same before he inquired after her desires for tonight. Admittedly, the Alpha was entirely unsurprised by the young girl's decision, her question only prompted a small nod to his head. "Mac and cheese sounds fine." He commented, his attention deviating from the child only to wave over one of the waitresses.
The soft soprano notes of Maeve's voice drew Tetradore's gaze as one of the waitresses began making her way over towards them. "Ice cream? Sure." The Alpha responded, his shoulders lifting in a vague shrug. It was the least he could do without acquiring some sort of birthday cake. The presence of the waitress, however, drew Tetradore's attention away from his companion as he ordered their mac and cheese, only for his gaze to shift back towards Maeve. "Is there anything else you want?"
