The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

She hated feeling so helpless about her friend. Henry looked so defeated and she wanted to comfort him and help him be happy again but didn't know how. She knew he'd only done what he thought was right. Henry could do no wrong in her opinion, anyway. He was a good soul and she held onto that. He held all her trust and more. Sterling had to forgive him and take him back; that's just all there was to it and she couldn't see it any other way. Sure, they had their differences but love was greater than all that. That's what she kept hearing in all the tv shows she watched so it must be true. He admitted that he loved Sterling more than anything but she didn't like the "but" he threw on as his voice trailed off. She scowled and her brows set in determination. No way was she accepting his quitting. He told her about all the mistakes and the history, saying he didn't know if Sterling would love him the same. She shook her head. "If he gives up on you that easily then that's not love. I don't think you're giving him enough credit. Maybe he just wants a grand gesture, something to show you care just as much as he does. Maybe he wants you to go after him." She had to believe that would fix everything. She was a woman of action so it made complete sense to her. Go after him and make things right. Don't give up until you're in each other's arms again. It had to work. |
