With the baby soon to arrive, Raven wanted to try to squeeze what little time she had left with Dorian. It wasn't that they were both going to be on different continents for years, but they might as well be. He would continue living in the city, and for what she knew, she and Tobias would continue living in the middle of the woods. The first few months it had been a difficult adjustment. After years of living on the Ark in close proximity with her family, being without them left her unsettled. Having Tobias at her side did provide her comfort and stability. However, as a pack animal and not being close to the pack, well it made her uncomfortable. Those invisible threads that bound them all together seemed far too stretched then what was endurable. When Tetradore came to visit by himself, or with other members of the pack, that anxiety melted away. Eventually, the she-wolf would get accustomed to the changes. After all, she had something new to be anxious about, preparing for a baby! Being far away from the pack also meant she would be far from friends.
Although she could have visited Dorian during her stay in the woods, he was quite a busy person, even during this global pandemic. Even though Dorian did answer the riddle correctly and tore off his blindfold when he shouldn't have, she couldn't help but beam happily back at him. This may not have been the result she wanted, but she was pleased to see Dorian's reaction to her exciting announcement. That he guessed incorrectly, and pottery nonetheless, was surprising. The young woman was sure he would have gotten the correct answer. His inquiry on whether or not they hoped for a specific gender was not surprising to hear. During his time, it was imperative for a wife to provide their husband a son, or multiple sons. In this day in age, it didn't matter as much. Besides, Tobias already had a set of twins, of both genders, all Raven could hope for was that their child came out healthy. With a faint smile, she brought up her phone, unlocking it as she scrolled for that photo of the ultrasound, she had sent Alexis.
Taking a step over towards him, she turned her phone around so that he could see the photo of her ultrasound. What a wonderful and terrifying thing for Dorian to experience, all the wonders that technology has achieved. As a Fae she was sure that he would probably witness the technology that she could hardly imagine after she was dead and gone. With a grin, she cheerfully explained to Dorian just how she would know these things.
Raven did not want to tell the King of Italy just how the Doctor would figure out the possibility of her due date. In the middle of explaining herself, she realized just what she had to say and well, how would one explain to a King about the monthly cycles that a woman experiences? She had no desire to further explain such a thing so she kept the conversation going and ending it quickly. After he looked over the photo, she tucked the phone away in her pocket. As she began to explain to Dorian that activity, they would take together. With a gentle chuckle at his thought of building something together she shook her head. This would truly be interesting!
Moving over towards the table that held the supplies that they would eventually be using she looked for that familiar-looking item. Seeing one of the cutout stencils of a jack-o-lantern she picked up the paper stencil and placed it on a nearby wooden board. Bringing the two over towards the table where Mrs. Green had placed the refreshments, she placed the wooden board on the table.
At this point, she'd gesture to the room around them again. As Dorian began to eat some of her cookies she watched as Mrs. Green walked away to the backroom and then returned with a very large paper, she was sure this was the stencil she asked the woman to do. Mrs. Green turned it around to show her and she nodded with approval.
Mrs. Green would move and place the stencil on the board farther down the table. Reaching over for one of her cookies she happily ate one, quite pleased with how it turned out. Pulling out one of the stools by the table, she allowed herself to sit, happy to rest her feet a little bit.
