I've been reading books of old the legends and the myths
This was not normal behavior.
Piper was well aware of the fact that normal people did not spend so much energy in trying to locate a stranger, especially in such an indirect way. Normal people did not lurk outside work places hoping for a glimpse of someone. Normal people did not spend so much time thinking about a person they'd only met once, for a few hours. Normal people did not allow their behavior to become almost stalker-esque, either. Normal people would just let it go and realize that the meeting she'd had with the Dark Hunter was a one time event.
And yet Piper felt as though she had been given very little choice if she wanted to run into the man again. After all, without his name, there was very little she could do. It wasn't as if she could walk into the prestigious Pentagram offices and ask for the sexy, dark-haired Dark Hunter who had saved her life from a vampire attack. She could imagine it now. Why no, ma'am, she didn't know his name. But he had green eyes and could create weapons out of thin air. Wasn't that enough information? That would get a quick call down to security and an escort out of the building. Wouldn't that be a great way to get the man's attention? Nothing said "hey, I'd love to go on a date with you" quite like being dragged out of your workplace by security.
As it was, Piper found herself again at the beautiful high rise that pierced the Eastern sky. At least now she'd given herself the pretense of being there for a real reason. Piper had filled the time waiting for the end of the work day with frequenting the high end stores that she loved. Now, as the time neared for her to attempt to meet up with the man, four shopping bags lined her arms - at least if she didn't run into the man she wanted so desperately to see, she'd scored a new purse and some new shoes for herself. Her lucrative trip had ended up being significantly better than just continuing to loop around the block like she had done last time. At least now she seemed to have a actual purpose for being here, right?
Piper stepped off the elevator and into the lobby, pleased to see dozens of employees spilling out of the elevators beside her. Some even had the Pentagram logo on their dark shirts. An even better sign! Piper stepped to the side, near a coffee cart, scanning the crowd for the man who had captured her thoughts as of late. She wasn't normally like this, what was going on? Did the man have some kind of pheromone power that attracted her so deeply? Had he put some kind of spell upon her to draw her near once more? Piper's knowledge of the supernatural world remained wholly limited, and it wasn't as though she had anyone she could call up and ask. She could imagine calling her sister and the the conversation now - hey Percy, I almost got murdered by a vampire and a Dark Hunter saved me, now I'm desperate to go on a date with him. Do you have any dating tips, I'm stumped. The idea of it was enough to wrench a genuine chuckle from her lips, causing a few heads to turn in her direction at the odd girl who seemed to be laughing to herself.
The elevator door clicked open once more, spilling out another wave of employees into the thinning crowd of the lobby. And there he was. The handsome hunter that had filled her thoughts stepped out of the elevator, his head tucked down. Piper would have known that face anywhere. She turned, stepping out of the line for the coffee cart, focusing her attention on maneuvering her way towards the man without making herself look too much like she was waiting on him. Oh god, what would she say? She hadn't expected to actually see him, and now she felt wholly unprepared for the meeting. But still, she moved her way forward, doing her best to blend into the crowd that was trying to thin out onto the street.
When she was within his line of sight, she pretended to look up, acting shocked to see his face. "Oh hel-" She began, her words cut off as she stepped down, only to find that the ground wasn't quite as steady as she had imagined. She heard the snap of her heel at the time she felt it, and the sensation sent the girl sprawling onto the marble tile of the lobby right at the feet of the very man whose attention she was trying to receive. Her bags scattered around her as she fell, giving the man the choice to either step on her or trip over the merchandise at his feet. Groaning, Piper moved to a sitting position, her crystalline eyes peeking up at the brunette. Sheepishly, Piper lifted her hand in a gentle wave, trying her best to laugh off the embarrassment that came from all the eyes on her. "We have got to stop meeting like this."
Now this was certainly not the meet cute that she had been trying to arrange.
