The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

She smiled and nodded along in agreement as Harper said it was good she had someone like Henry there to help her along when she shifted to her human form. "Yeah, Henry's the coolest." She would never get tired of talking up her best friend. As she thought about him, she wondered how he was holding up. Last time she'd spoken to him, the love of his life had left him and he was pretty broken up. She made a mental note to check up on him soon. Meanwhile, Harper distracted her by bringing up some foreign thing called a driver's license and Malia scrunched up her nose as she asked about it. The other Were shrugged it off, though, saying it was something you were supposed to have to drive cars but she never got one. Malia shrugged. "Those things scare me, anyway." She had seen too many creatures get run over by the crazy flying cars on the road. The first time Frost tried to take her out in one, she about had a panic attack. It was so offputting to know you were moving so fast yet your feet didn't touch the ground. She didn't like it, not at all. As Harper looked around in the arcade, she went to get them tokens. Luckily the kid who worked the counter owed her for beating up some guys that were bullying him one night so he was always ready to give her free tokens when she came in. She came back with a handful to wave in front of her new friend's face and laughed when Harper all but shouted that they needed to shoot some zombies. Guns was something she was still uncomfortable with, but she was getting better. The first time she came to the arcade and heard the sounds from the shooter games, she would flinch. She even jump behind another gaming console before out of instinct. She got plenty of looks for that one. Too many encounters with hunters in the woods when she was stuck in her coyote form. She was getting better though, after being in the arcade so much. She sucked herself when she tried to the shooter games for the first time, but at least it would give her something to do together with Harper. The girl grabbed her arm and tugged her toward the games, asking if she could shoot a zombie. Malia grimaced and gave a shrug. "I'm not going to lie and say I'm good at it, but I'll do my best." She even offered to get them more tokens and Malia smirked. "Oh, don't worry about that. I'll keep them coming all night if you want." She said with a conspiratory look toward the guy at the counter. When Harper asked if she lied with Henry, Malia shook her head. "I stayed with him for a while but then I met my pack. Now I live in the pack house with Frost and the other pack members." She grabbed the other gun, showing just how inadequate she was by picking it up with two fingers and staring at it with a grimace for a moment before she moved it to her shoulder and awkwardly held the trigger. |
