"You existed."
Alistair's voice was decidedly blunt as the Hunter beside him inquired what he had done to irk Richard so greatly. It was a nonsensical reason, Alistair knew that. But then again he viewed Richard's attack as equally as nonsensical as what he could only presume was the vampire's reasoning for it. A scowl was etched within Alistair's features as his gaze brushed over the crowd around them. Escape was hardly feasible, regardless of how much the artist might have desired to simply run away from the unfortunate situation he found himself within. There was no guarantee that they would not fall prey to Richard even if the Hunters vacated the premises and Alistair abhorred the thought of another suffering that dreadful feeling of helplessly dying while being feasted on by the undead. The Hunter at his side all but mirrored those thoughts as the artist finally reached for his own affinity. A short sword appeared within his palm, the blade itself was seemingly tinted a near ethereal shade of blue. The very presence of his weapon seemed to cause the Hunter at his side to pause near abruptly - as if he had never before witnessed such a power. Alistair's emerald irises shifted towards the elder hunter at his side, his brow rose ever so slightly as the weapon in his palm quite abruptly ignited. He hardly commented upon his fellow Hunter's reaction, however, Alistair content to simply focus upon the rather pressing problem at hand. God, he could only hope that the man beside him had some power of his own. The last thing he needed was for an older useless Hunter to judge him.
The artist instead focused upon his...co-worker's....previous query. Although Alistair hardly liked the idea of being mere bait - it was perhaps the role he was better suited for. He turned towards the hyena behind him, only to comment that he'd take care of...well....that giant thing while his fellow Hunter dealt with the far more pressing issue - Richard. Their impromptu strategic meeting, however, was cut off short as the hyena suddenly lunged at them. Alistair sword easily whizzed through the air, if only to allow the hyena to collide into the flat of his blade. The very presence of those blue flames prompted a yelp from the canine. The creature pushed himself off of Alistair in some effort to rebound away from the flickering flames. The collision of the impact, however, saw the Hunter stumble back a few steps and into a nearby table. A soft sound of disgruntlement left Alistair's lips as he jumped to his feet, carefully leaping after the hyena in some effort to coral the creature into the corner. Those flames flickered and jumped with every movement of his balde, the sword was waved in front of the Hyena near threateningly with every movement the creature made. Behind him, Alistair could hear the clattering of bodies into tables and chairs though he hardly dared to take his eyes off the hyena to investigate his fellow Hunter's actions.
It was a loud crash that finally drew Alistair's gaze, albeit briefly, towards the pair of wrestling men. A frown crossed his lips as the hyena tried to lunge past him, Alistair near forced to lunge after him in order to get ahead of the canine again. It was the sound of his name that caused Alistair to glance again towards his now pinned fellow Hunter - the very sight of Richard poised upon the man brought a scowl to his features. Briefly his gaze shifted back towards the dog that lowly growled at him. "Shit." The curse word muttered softly under his breath as he transferred his flaming sword to his left hand, hoping the Hyena didn't take advantage of his distraction. A second blade was summoned within his right hand - this one far smaller, more akin to a knife or a dagger. Those signature flames were quick to engulf it's sharpened point. Alistair wasted no time in simply throwing the knife at Richard. Thankfully, his training with Adrien seemed to be paying off. His aim was true, the flaming dagger collided into Richard's arm, it's sharpened point burying into the man's skin. At first, that stabbing hardly seemed to do anything more then anger the vampire before those bright blue flames near burst into life. A scream tore through Richard's throat, those flickering fires had ignited upon the man's arm, eating away at his clothing. Richard flailed his arm through the air in an attempt to put them out and yet, those mythical flames hardly seemed inclined to stop. A look of surprise appeared upon Alistair's features - the Dark Hunter momentarily forgot about the Hyena in front of him. He had never seen his ability do that, though, then again, the only time he'd actually used it against the undead was also the first time he had discovered it. Keeping those flames alive, then, had been the best he could do. "Uhh...you...might want to kill him soon...before he brings even more attention to us..." Alistair commented, the emerald of his gaze still trained upon the screaming vampire.
