The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

I should have known better. I should have been paying better attention. I've been in this town long enough to know there are cars on the street and they don't always see me when I walk across. I'm used to honking horns and cursing drivers, no matter what form I'm in at the time. So why didn't I see the car coming? Too lost in my own head. Now I had a new mess to clean up, cause I knew it wasn't a good thing for humans to see me use my powers. It was an instinct, a reaction. I didn't even think about it when I threw my hands up and I should have known my shield would come to my rescue. Only good thing was that it was invisible so no one would actually see the shield, just what it could do. Saving me is exactly what it did, too, smashing the poor driver's car in and sending his face into the deployed air bag. A small whimper fell from my lips as I slowly drew my arms back down, surveying the damage.
That's when I looked back at my pack mate coming toward me, the only ally I knew of in the surrounding area. He seemed just as confused as the other humans around me. That's when it hit me. Of course, I haven't had to use my powers around Henry yet so he didn't even know what I could do. My scared reaction probably didn't help either. Like an amateur. He probably thought I didn't even know what my powers were. As his hand went to my shoulder, I flinched automatically, not because I was scared of him. I was just still in shock from what just happened. Swallowing down what I could of my fear, I looked up at him as he asked if I was okay, nodding my head. "Yeah...I'm fine." I felt out of breath, like I'd just run a marathon or something. Was that the adrenaline? I followed his gaze to the smashed car, watching the poor driver stumble out. I felt terrible for hurting him. It wasn't his fault. I was the one who stepped out into the road.
When the man asked if I was okay, it was all I could do not to cry. When Henry stepped away, I thought at first that he was mad at me, angry for what I'd done. But then I saw him go to the driver and hold his hand over the man's face. My eyes widened in shock as the man's face started to heal. When Henry came back to me, I stared at him for a minute, still processing as he asked what happened. "You can heal others too??" It came out before I could help myself. I'd never met someone else who could heal others. But then I blinked a few times, remembering he had asked me something. I shook my head. "No, I'm not hurt, really. It was stupid. I didn't look and when I saw the car coming, I panicked and my shield came up on reflex. I didn't mean to hurt the man....or his car." I grimaced at the mangled sight. Too bad I couldn't heal vehicles.
