No black magic can control me and no curse can let you own me
Alexis, at least, was not at all like how Harley thought she would be one one one. Especially the person she remembered the brief moment before the Ark sunk. She did not anticipate this amicable being who sat in her chair. She certainly gave her no reason to show her claws. She was curious how the other woman would handle her first taste of it as everyone's reaction was a different one. It was also one that she handled surprisingly well. That verbal confirmation was all she needed to continue. With a sound of agreement that hummed past her lips she continued, the woman worked diligently, wiping away the faint prickles of blood that drew to the surface from the rapid needle-piercing skin to insert the ink. She was in her element and it showed with each confident stroke.
Music played within the air, filling the space with a backdrop beyond the drone of the tattoo gun. It didn't take long for the woman to fall into her groove before she filled the comfortable quiet between them with a simple question. She hadn't expected the sudden tension of the were-fox, far more than she had with the bite of the tattoo gun. Had she hit a nerve? Most people loved talking about their love lives...
Alright.... Boyfriend talk was a no-go. But she wasn't one to pry into her client's affairs. Just as she was about to offer an out, Alexis replied, short and to the point. Alexander, she stated her boyfriend's name and then casually mentioned that he was a hunter. Two very vague things that legit told her nothing. Well.. okay then. The boyfriend talk was definitely a miss. "My brother is a hunter. I don't know much about that world though." It was probably for the best. Her brother and her didn't get along on a good day, she couldn't ever imagine a world where he shared the details of his job and life's purpose. "Wait... a second. Does it ever get weird practically having the same name as your partner?" She bit back that wide grin that threatened to sprawl mischievously across her face. That's gotta be a whole thing in bed. Messing around with someone with the same name as you... But truly, to Harley, it hardly mattered to her who Alexis was dating, fucking or anything in between. Perhaps it was best that they shift the conversation to something... safer. Especially with a client. She had to at least 'try' to be good. Emphasis on try, especially when her mind was having a damn field day.
"Although, you know something I find... funny. Hunters are supposed to be like the boogeymen to the supernatural population to behave or some shit, right? Like Rambo police officers keeping the big bad monsters in line right? What really gets me, out of everything? For as big and scary as they are supposed to be, you would think they would have more intimidating names or something." She paused on the line she was working on, at the base of that tree as she huffed out a silent laugh, shaking her head softly.
At least out of all the things, hunters seemed to be the least of her problems, which was odd considering she seemed to find no shortage of trouble wherever she went. Honestly, she was sure some of them have a real raging hard-on for power trips... Which really wasn't surprising. That was everywhere when someone believed to even have a little more power than you did.
"You are doing well, fox-girl, better than most on their first. I have to say.. even some of the old pros don't sit as well as you. We could probably finish today at this rate if you think you can keep up with this pace." Some much-needed breaks were a given. They both needed to stretch out her legs and take the ever-patient Ace out from time to time too.
