The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

Really the lupine meant well. She never had someone to really look after before. According to the few books she found on the topic for familiars it was her job to keep the Witch out of danger. Perhaps a mixture of her inexperience and eagerness to do a job well done led the girl to stray towards a bossier route. Yet how could she be blamed for me extra watchful of her charge? All the dangers the raven-haired woman got herself into was enough to make the she-wolf go a bit haywire. For all the hard work she had done she had yet to hear some sort of appreciation coming from the angelic named Witch. She did after all help the girl hide the body of her dead mentor and no prying eyes had come along to find out where he was. Even now she had not heard any sort of gratitude right after keeping her from the dangerous winged...male...whatever it was. If there was one thing that she should work on with her charge it was manners â€" said the peculiar marked lupine that remained lying down on her countertop. That fluffy tail of hers twitching side to side beating the top of the countertop in a ticking manner. It was in her primal nature to protect what was hers and thanks to their blood bonded, partly so, she wanted nothing more than to do a job well done â€" even if it wasn't thanked. Indeed the wolf had many missing pieces when it came to socialization but that wasn't her fault. Woefully she hinted at what was troubling her and just why she wished to stay around the girl for just a little bit longer â€" selfish yes, but she was hoping perhaps her other half would be of some help. It was Serafina's sharper tone that made the lupine visibly wince as her grey-trimmed ears tucked back against her skull. She hardly wanted to discuss such personal things to a Witch that hardly seemed to want her around, but maybe she was the only person that could at least help her out. Maybe. With a heavy side her handsomely shaped mutilated face would turn in the Witch's direction speaking in a softly and strained narrative manner â€" a sign that what she was saying was not only true, but also a clear sign she had yet to speak aloud such things before providing details...maybe a bit too much.
"You remember the leopard, Tobi, from the dance? Well, he and I have been dating and quite frankly everything has been going well for us. Until a few nights ago. His Alpha has this Sister...and this Sister could not control her power that controls hormones. Because she could not do such a thing it led to my boyfriend sleeping with the Alpha's Sister which, of course, produced cubs â€" because he has the mind of a child and she was an idiot. The problem I have, is that the Alpha has my boyfriend and his Sister as Seconds in the pack...and although she is a complete threat to me, because she is capable of producing cubs for Tobi and I am not, I really don't want to care for her or the cubs. But because I am part wolf I have to act on my instincts which are twisted. Part of my instincts is telling me to get rid of her because she is a threat and the other part of me is telling me that I have to protect her and the cubs. The human side of me does not want harm of any kind to come to her and the cubs...but that is painfully difficult to make the wolfish side of me understand."
At this point the scarred lupine managed to lift and stand on her grey massive paws, standing for a moment before she began to pace. Back and forth she went along the one countertop the anxiety and tension she felt, in addition to being in such a cramped place, led her to release whatever tension she felt all through pacing. Ebony skull would shake side to side in a desperate manner as her eyes closed half-way, unwilling to admit to the other darker side of her monumental problem. That grey dipped tail sinking low and curling underneath her an easy sign to show distress as her ears twitched atop her cranium. Her voice now carrying painful exhaustion as she simply followed instructions the Witch gave her â€" she was spitting it out explaining more about her apprehension in joining her new family.
"Not to mention I haven't told any of them, except Tobi, about my feral mind. I go feral every now and then. Friend and family are seen as nothing more than targets when I am feral and I cannot control myself. I know my own pack abused me, but one night I just snapped and I barely remembered what happened, but I came to and saw blood on my paws and the whole lot of them dead. I am terrified that when I let the Alpha know he won't want me around, which is understandable, I can be unstable...but I've always wanted to belong somewhere and I thought with his pack....I could. For a wolf...pack is life it is everything...and being alone...it is not good for a wolf...it is not good for me."
For once her head would swing back around to look at Serafina, those eyes carrying fear and anxiety as she simply stood on the countertop. Waiting ever so patiently for her charge to say something...helpful. She hardly thought the girl would understand â€" she was not tailored to think in halves. Being part human and part animal was terrible sometimes. Sitting back on her haunches with her banner curled around her paws her head simply lowered as her gentle voice weakly pressed into Sera's mind the topic not completely changed if only momentarily.
"If I am supposed to be your familiar...why do you never ask for me to come? I only come when I sense you are in trouble, but I'd like to be something more than just some guard dog. You always seem so lonely...why not just ask for some company? Ever think that maybe...just maybe...I want to be with you too â€" you make it...difficult."
