East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

The stars in their orbits [ Fin ]

The opening night of any business was truly an exciting but nerve wracking affair. Nadya's burlesque, The Cat's Meow, was no different tonight. The young woman had grown up and found something to actually put her energy into rather than wandering the city in boredom. Over the last few weeks Nadya had taken great painstaking care in getting the building looking cozy spic and span and hiring employees to help it run. The dancers were trained and ready, the waiters quick and polite, her bouncer(albeit mute) was intimidating enough sitting outside the door in her tiger form, and the bartender...well, was serving drinks with finesse. Due to ample advertising and the fact that it was the first burlesque in the city it was a full house. Nadya was dressed in her purple corset top floor length dress with a slit up the side to her thigh and pump heels with her hair swept to the side in its natural wave. It all felt a bit surreal walking amongst the people when just yesterday it was bare.

Nadya had kept up appearances throughout the night as was proper for an owner especially on opening night. She drifted between the people welcoming them and making sure they were taken care of before moving to back stage to help with the bustle of the dancers in and out of wardrobe. Soon enough she would join them on stage now that she had had the twins but for now she played the dutiful single role of owner. Really Nadya shouldn't have felt so worried since she had been so scrupulous about picking her employees and training them that they were doing a fantastic job working together making the night run so smoothly. Once the initial adrenaline and excitement had worn off Nadya retreated up the stairs to the over balcony that faced the stage and into one of the rooms where the twins were hidden away. Just because there was a business to run didn't mean she could neglect her first priority of feeding her babies.

Nadya remained on the balcony for a better part of the night, leaning against the railing gripping the polished wood in her hands watching the scene below with the utmost of pride. Finally it was time to call it a night and close up. Once the last of the patrons had left, Nadya descended the steps once more. "That was a great night girls!" She called enthusiastically to the dancers in praise. "Be careful getting home." Nadya nodded to the dancers as they filed back stage to change and leave through the backdoor entrance. "So, that was exciting..." Nadya's soft smile turned on Finley and seated herself at one of the empty barstools. "How'd you do? Not scared off yet are you?" She giggled and tucked her hair behind her ear.
