East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

They were a curious breed, these Hunters, so many ages lived seeming to assure them that they knew entirely more then those around them- the humor lacing the blonde mans words hardly replicated by the often stoic equine, shoulders rolling in what may well have been an equine themed shrug before Frost merely turned from him. He had no true desire to engage with this short little coffee making man anymore then Alex surely desired to engage with a Werehorse and yet if the price of Alexanders assistance was little more then feeding his evident curiosity in the coin then so be it. Hunters always were easy to motivate with the right bribery, Alex and his clear curiosity exploitable enough, though for now the snowy-hued animal is content to end such discussions- making his way towards the gathered group to stand upon its outskirts while Alex managed to find a suitable position on a log. The chatter that resulted had long ago lost any true interest for the stallion, the better part of his life having been spent amongst this group, very little having changed. After all, Hunter's seemed to loath change as much as they loathed missing a target and as such Frost found himself once more given to ignore the majority of the flurry of words directed towards Alex, the single, shiny new toy in their midst that seemed to create far more sensation then the horse truly believed the man was worth. His own attention was simply given to shift to the nearest creature of his kind, the Thoroughbred standing with his side to the fire a herd member Frost had not taken the time to talk to in years.

Your Hunter smells like coffee, Frost.
You get used to it after awhile, I suspect he rarely leaves his café.
Does he do any tricks?
Not yet, he's more stubborn then I would like, asks to many questions. I may have managed to teach him to follow though I expect it will take a few more lessons. He does not speak our language so teaching him to come when he's called is so far a pipe dream.
What happened to your legs?
He threw a spear at me.
Why?
We had a disagreement as to how fast he was going to move. I may have....underestimated his accuracy with a spear. He may be little but he is surprisingly-.

The interruption of Xerxes saw the equine merely fall silent once more, strange violet eyes moving to linger upon the dark-skinned, dark-haired man that detached himself from the shadows to approach- assured entirely that Alex was somehow known to him, Frost once more finding little of intrigue in the conversation until Alex's word took a tone entirely cooler than the apathetic tone the stallion had become used to, ears pricking forward in some image of curiosity now. Bessus? It was an unfamiliar word, though whether a name or some sort of insult Frost hardly knew, the word merely stored silently within his memory all the same as each muscle in Xerxes frame seemed to stiffen as if he'd been struck, the exchange between the men seeming only to darken further and in a manner Frost was given to find all the more intriguing. It was rare to see Xerxes riled, the man often given to possess an air of assurance about himself that others could rarely seem to deflate- his age affording him a level of respect amongst the others that Alex alone seemed determined to undo. It is merely the quirk of his lips that perhaps gives away the vaguest hint of a simper that seemed to linger upon the horses features, violet gaze watching still beneath that ever-long forelock that hung within his eyes, amused by this interaction entirely though displeased perhaps, that Alex had not been successful some years ago in actually destroying his companion. The group would have been far better off without Xerxes- a continued point of opposition against Frosts own....ideals.

Rectify it? You failed to kill me then, I think you'd fail to do it now. How many years did it take you to conquer your precious little empire Alex.....and how many did it take to see it fall? Your looking significantly less Great then I remember you. I also don't remember you having a mule for a mount. Whatever happened to the other pony? Did you finally run it into the ground? Work it to death? Watch it get skewered on a sword? How utterly fucking tragic.

One violet eye rolled away from the darker-haired hunter and back towards Alexander, resting upon his blonde companion for several moments, gauging his reaction to Xerxes own baiting words as the taller, dark-skinned man pressed only further closer, arms folded across his chest in a deliberate, if unspoken, challenge to the seated man. There was evidently a history to be had here, Frost continuing to watch it unfold before him, the comment in regards to him being a mule met with little more then a grunt, refusing to actually engage the ridiculous Persian who seemed determined to see how far his blonde barista could be pushed- Robin equally determined to interrupt once more, demanding Xerxes sit down before the Persian rounded upon him. You know the rules as well as anyone Robin, he can't just show up here and join in- what the fuck does he even want anyway? He shows up out of nowhere with that lunatic of a stallion no one can ride and we give him coffee?! We don't need some little short-ass King who hasn't seen a battle in a thousand years or a stallion that won't follow orders from anyone!

The snort that erupted from the stallion's nostrils was followed by little more then a lift of a single eye, hardly bothered by the Persian's explosive anger at Alexanders appearance although why the dark-skinned man seemed so upset remained to be seen, ears flicking briefly toward Robin as he spoke. Xerxes will you shut up for even five seconds. We could always use more men and his height hardly has anything to do with it although, Alex, I do have to ask why you are here exactly? Did you want to join us? You'd be welcome if you want- you'd only have to pass training and we will get you a different horse.

Xerxes muttering was cut off by Frost's movement once more, head lowered to shove against Alex's back, attempting to stir the Hunter into speech, else some attempt to actually befriend the group before them despite Xerxes determination to become....problematic in the future.
