The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

Tobias nods his head, seemingly comforted by the girl's answer that she'll keep his secret. He seems to tame down some, that is, until the girl uses a nickname on me. I feel the tension crank up instantly and when I glance his way, Tobias' eyes have darkened as he glares her way. He scowls, telling her my name and I raise a brow in slight amusement, pursing my lips some as i glance toward the girl, curious of her answer. Tobias seems locked in a staring match with her now, daring her to argue. I'm sure the girl can hold her own in a quarrel though I hardly want that going on in my pub. He stares at her a few moments more before finally glancing away, naming both of us now and speaking slowly like she can't understand. My lips twitch in humor but I hold my tongue, not wanting to offend either of the intriguing creatures before me. I turn my glance back to him time and again as I talk to her, watching him trace the lines in the table. I may not know much about Tobias but he comes off as a lonely craeture, even though I know he has his pack and a mate. When the plate of food falls before him, he stops his muttering of gibberish, his dark eyes wide as he surveys the platter. When the utensils arrive with the food though, his face falls and I tilt my head in curiosity. He slides the fork and knife toward the girl then, telling us in a slow stuttering voice that he is not allowed to use them. He even mentions his tendency for stabbing people which makes my lips twitch again but I hold back a chuckle so as not to offend him. He then tucks right into the food, scarfing down the fish like it may swim away. His teeth seem to find no weakness in the lobster shell or bones that crunch between them like sawdust. My brows rise, clearly impressed by this power I didn't know he possessed. Surely all weres cannot bite through anything. He only pauses when he reaches the oysters, something I'm not even sure why the waiter put on his plate since it's not fish. I scowl thoughtfully as he picks up the oyster only to start slamming it against his table. I'm actually surprised he didn't just try to bite it too. Surely his teeth can go right through it. He then turns his gaze to me and the girl, asking if it's a rock. i shake my head in answer. "Not a rock. An oyster. The meat is inside the shell, almost like the lobster you devoured." I add with a small smirk. I watch as the boy's face changes, suddenly grinning as he holds the oyster out to the girl, asking her if she wants it because it's the best of all rocks. Once more I have to hold back my chuckle so as not to offend him. It's obvious that he's trying to trick her and he thinks he's so slick. I turn my gaze to her, curious as to how she'll react. I see her eyes narrow in challenge for one split second before she seems to change her mind, a soft smile tugging at her lips. As I lean in to speak to her, I offer my charming smile and she answers back in an alluring smirk of her own. Her breath is sweet on my face as she tells me she'll keep it in mind and introduces herself as Rosa. I straighten up to bow like a gentleman, flashing her another smile. "It's a pleasure to meet you, Rosa." I note the accent in her voice and I find myself only more intrigued by it. She turns her attention then to Tobias, watching him scrawl on the table and talk gibberish. When he tells us the reason for him not using utensils, she smiles and slides them further away. When claws spring out where once fingers were, she raises her brow but holds her tongue. When he offers her the oyster for her pie, she humors him, outstretching her hand for the oyster while allowing him to eat her food. I make a note to put a pie in a take out box for Rosa before she leaves, listening as she tells Tobias she'll treasure the rock. I glance up as a new scent hits my nostrils, my brows furrowing in clear annoyance as my eyes skirt to the door where two men have just walked in, brandishing their weapons on their backs and belts like badges of honor. Hunters, just my luck. I can tell by the look in their eyes that they're here for trouble. I turn back to the two at the table, flashing a polite smile that clearly looks forced. "Excuse me. Enjoy your meals." I give Rosa a playful wink before I turn from the table and head to the door, stopping before the two men who just grin and chuckle, one crossing his arms, clearly amused. I tilt my head, my eyes darkening even as the smile never leaves my lips. "How can I help you gentlemen?" |
