East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

i used to rule the world

seas would rise when i gave the word

A small hint of a simper crossed his lips at the young girl's eagerness to start a career at his cafe. It was so rare that working within his establishment was met with such irrevocable enthusiasm. Far too usually barista positions attracted the artistic souls or those that thought they "loved coffee" but ended up quitting within the month. His current main barista was a bit rough around the edges but customer service had never particularly been Alexander's forte. Hell, he was a King for goodness sakes. The only thing he cared about was that his coffee was exquisite and apparently that was enough to keep the masses coming, regardless of how kind hearted he felt towards the people that lined in front of his door and kept the income rolling in (not that he particularly needed it either way). In contrast, the young woman in front of him seemed to be the breath of fresh air that perhaps the Inner Sanctum needed. "Whenever you like, you could come by tomorrow if you want." Alexander offered her with a small shrug, continuing his efforts not to push the girl into anything she didn't fully intend to do. After all, for all he knew she might find the faces that passed through his door too overwhelming for her tender heart.

Never the less, Alexander was entirely certain that he could mold her into the definition of perfection when it came to her duties at the cafe - her claims of clumsiness aside. After all, it wasn't as if he didn't have centuries of useless experience and knowledge resting somewhere deeply within his head. Now, however, he was content to let the girl experience the first of the delicacies that perhaps she soon would be crafting, his blue-green gaze watching her intently as she rose the cup to her lips in an over eager fashion. He could tell that the heat was too much for her mouth, her hand over her lips and the squinting of her eyes easily informing him of her pain and yet he could do little more then offer her a cold alternative. Alexander watched in silence and she contemplated the drink within her hands though the Macedonian man hardly moved so much as a muscle until she voiced the word. Slowly, he placed his drink beside him before rising, deftly moving about his kitchen to fetch the young woman something he knew would sooth her pain. He returned only moments later with a small glass of milk held nonchalantly within his hand. Alexander paused as he stood over her, offering her the cup, "Drink." He commanded softly, stepping away only once it had been taken from him.

Slowly, the man settled back upon the floor of his loft, the steaming mug still taken comfortably within his own grasp before his gaze trailed to the window, waiting for Alexis to nurse her wounded mouth back to some resemblance of comfort. His eyes traced the rain that fell outside in silence. Somehow, the storms always put the conqueror more at ease. It was those forces of nature that somehow spoke to his old soul, bringing him a sense of tranquility. After a moment of internal contemplations, the man allowed his gaze to flicker back towards the woman, having made every effort not to bother her whilst she was busy with the milk. "Feel better?" He inquired after a moment, his head tilting ever so slightly in a small display of interest.
